i am a 65 year old female and have been going to the loo every two hours to wee this has been going on for three weeks now . My two samples do not have blood in them but couldnt be analysed as too many crystals in it so doing a new sample tomorrow. The first lot of anti b's didnt work so they have taken me off them as they say no infection. Does anyone else have this frequency - cannot sleep as awake every two hours going to the loo.

There are many here that have a similar problem! (From 20-70) so it's not an age thing. I have had the same issues except some nights, I have to wake up every hour to pee. If 2 hours go by, I'm lucky. Other nights, a good night is going every 4 hours.
First stop: Urologist. Took all the necessary tests to eliminate anything serious. Everything was working and healthy yet the problem continued. Then I had 12 sessions of PTNS nerve stimulation (once a week) and I had high hopes it would help - I thought it had, but it returned.
Someone recommended an herb called D-Mannose which I will be trying soon (I'll try anything at this point); and my Dr. Referred me to a uro-gynecologist but I have no idea what she will do. It's a long trip so inconvenient.
But I hate wondering when I'll be needing the bathroom again. You're not alone.

Louise,do you eat/drink a lot of citrus fruit or red wine or tonic water? These are all bladder irritants and may be the cause. Have you introduced anything into your diet about 3 weeks ago that could be the cause? Have you changed your washing powder? A residue can cause an irritation to the urethra. Do you wear panty liners? They can be highly irritating especially if they are the ones that feel "plastic" to the touch. Try changing to cotton feel liners.
You may also have urge incontinence. The usual treatment first is to be assessed by a urogynaecologist as sometimes the other gynae bits of your anatomy can have an impact on the bladder. You may be asked to do a series of urodynamic tests to determine a possible cause but often the first treatment is to refer you on to a specialised urology physiothererapist, who can teach you exercises to re educate your bladder.

I have not started the D-Mannose yet; but someone on here called it an herb. I'll have too look at the label because I'm not supposed to have too much sugar!!!
There were also some other items in this health store - that comes in the form of drops that supposedly works better according to the sales rep
