Femoston - how long does it take for your body to settle down

Posted , 8 users are following.

Diagnosed as peri-meno back in November and started on Femoston 2mg.  Its really helped with the flushes, anxiety and I am sleeping way better.  However experiencing random bleeding, bloating and swollen boobs.  Think Im PMT now as back aching like crazy and period pains - but hard to know as Im bleeding at different times of the month/tablets.  Anyone out there on Femoston and have any feedback about how long it took them to settle down and get into a more regular cycle?

Thanks in advance.

I've only had experience with hormones in pellet form and pill form but everything you are describing is typical until they can balance out your hormones. I bled off and on. It scared me but it was fairly.normal as it takes time to adjust.

I was started on Femoston 1/10mg in February and being taking for approximately 2 months. I have had tender breasts and recently I've had days of some bloating. I haven't experienced any random bleeding but last month PMT had really intense cramps more than usual. I think does take a few months to settle.

I'm due to change from Femoston to Everol Sequi an increased dose.

If you don't mind me asking why after 2 months of taking femoston you are changing to a higher dosage?

Thanks for your posts. I’ve been back to see gynaecologist this am and I’m going to try 1mg/10 and see how that works. He is also suggesting mirena coil longer term but I had it before and really didn’t like it. 😐 oh the joys of being a woman!

I am on Femoston 2/10 and feel normal again. It takes time to use it and yes you will have a more regular cycle after some months. Hope it helps! smile

I'm only into my 2nd week of taking femoston 1mg/10mg, 50yrs old, peri-meno for about 17months . Had been trying to avoid taking any tablets but finally accepted I needed help. Hot flushes, sleepless nights (so bad), moody, itchy. Since taking femoston 1mg/10mg its settling. As I've had a tubal ligation at aged 24yrs old, I don't need to be taking any other tablets with this. The support from my husband is amaxing. He's so understanding and helps me work through this. I was advised by my GP to give at least 3months of taking these tablets for the full effects of my peri-meno to settle down. So far so good...

Hi, I've been on Femoston 1mg/5mg for 3 months now. I changed from Evorel Conti which caused me to spot/bleed for months!  The first month I started Femoston my boobs were really tender and sore then after a few weeks it all calmed down.Month 1 I had 1 tiny episode of spotting. Month 2 a bit more spotting ( a couple of days.Month 3 a lot more spotting and period pains, 8 days worth.  This is so normal for HRT. It takes at least 6 months or more to settle completely. My night sweats have gone, also various aches and pains and my mood has improved so it all balances out eventually. Hang in there!
