Fentanyl withdrawal is inhumane

I am currently on day 22 of a fentalyl detox ... after the forst 3 days of punching my self in the face and wanting to end life a drup called lofexidine took away a percentage of the pain. It takes 16 weeks to get righ again if your renal system has not been damaged by the dependence. I had a year of chemo, radio and surgery in 2011 causing this to be prescribed  and this withdrawal experience has bee worse than that entire year. Fentanyl should only be used in palative care or to end of life use, If you can stand the paranoia , innumeracy, and alarming spending habits it creates. Actually I never found it to be a great painkiller but its hard to admit during the intial euphoria it creates. which you quickly get used to. DONT TAKE FENTANYL it is so pure and strong it will destroy your natural happy systems forever. The NHS knoe how to prescribe it but no idea how to get you off it, Forget the fliue like withdrawal systems its brutal and dangerous and flue very pleasant by comparison.  I hope taking the time to do this stops just one person taking.

    Sorry to hear that. I’m wanting off these 100mcg Patches/ changing every 48 HRs. I Used these for last two years because of inoperable back problems & it just doesn’t dull the pain any longer. I read where people say it’s 1,000 Times stronger than Morphine?  This cannot be true?  Did someone just exaggerate the fact they are supposed to be the strongest pain Med??  I have a lot to live for and no way want to die, but  I have been hurting so bad a few times that I have put two on at same time & really didn’t care if outcome was Terminal, I just needed relief.. I felt no different or any less pain with two than with one..  I hear about Fentanyl Overdoses.

     These people are doing things with these patches that they are not supposed to do, Smoking, shooting up, & GOD knows what else..  I liked these at first because unlike Morphine and other Opiods, there was no Euphoric Feeling or Head Rush.  I have no idea what to change Patches for, & My Doctor Says anything else will be far weaker and will not help much with my pain..  

    is there anyone who’s been down this road?

    I sure would appreciate good advice from someone who has lived this instead of my doctor guessing at an alternative.

    i have been on Fentanyl for 16 years due to broken back, but i also have Heart failure stage 3 and i am very ill with it. but my doctor as left and a new one who knows nothing about me as decided to stop my Fentanyl i know it will kill me as my Heart won't be able to take it, they tried 6 years ago when my heart failure wasn't as bad and i ended up in hospital just 6 hours later. so they agreed to keep me on it as it would kill me. But to do it now when my heart failure is so bad is insane, doctors think they are God and will NOT listen. so this will be my first and last post as my body is so weak it won't take what the doctor is doing,
