Fever - wrap up or cool off?

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hi, there seems to be some debate regarding what to do if you have a fever, say 38.5 degrees.

Your body's reaction seems to be to try to wrap up and stay as warm as possible. Does this go against what is good for you? Should you be taking layers off even if it feels uncomfortable to do so? My instinct is to go with what feels right and to stay warm.

Any opinions welcome. I would also be interested if there is any literature on the subject.

Many thanks
