I've been in contact with the company recently. They told me they have no upcoming trials. What did you hear?

I was eagerly looking forward to this drug finally being approved. Last year, I thought it was dead in the water, but I just looked it up last week and it looks like they are still moving forward in trying to get FDA approval (they appear to be further along with EU approval).

Several years ago I remember seeing an article where the drug was stated as reducing the prostate size by about 20% in the first month. However, the latest articles primarily use IPSS as a criteria and prostate size reduction is not really mentioned. Having been in startups that went belly up myself, I know the desperation of company founders when a company is going under. Only the most positive results are put forth and often greatly embellished.

At any rate, I am still hopeful, but,,,,,,,,,,,

Not sure why you say that, Derek. Urologists will be the ones performing the injections. It probably won't be cheap. Also, the studies I've ready recently talk about multiple injections.

While it will probably be less expensive than the other procedures, it will be a treatment under their control as opposed to FLA and PAE.

I would think that others than urologists could do it. The price and who gets to do it will be controlled by the drug company.

From what I read, the shots are now directed into the transition zone. Maybe you're right, but I would want someone with an intimate knowledge of the anatomy to shoot me up.

There are certainly conflicting reports on the drug and on Nymox, the company marketing it.

The marketing claims sound good but you would think that men who have been treated would be speaking up about their results.

Yes! The same thought occurred to me about a week ago when I was looking at FT studies. I actually tried to search for comments made by men who were part of the studies, but could not find anything. My guess is that the men were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. If FT lives up to its billing, it would be a terrific advancement. However, there are so many questions about the company and what seems like covering up less than glowing information/reports.

Perhaps silence was their price for being included in the trials.

The most interesting no side effect treatment I've heard of since PAE - no heat sounds like the holy grail if it's true. I wrote to professor in Colorado (where I live) who hosted a video on the test results to ask him if he does it yet.

Hi, if it shrinks ones prostate what else does it shrink that they don't want to tell you about? drugs I hope one day there will be harmless drugs that work.

My understanding is that they have injected the drug into other organs and tissue that are near the prostate of rats and dogs. Supposedly, in all cases, there were no negative effects.

its injected directly into prostate why would you worry and weren't they followed for 3 years? they can't lie about results in a study. They reported no side effects - anything else shrinking would be a side effect What i didn't see was median lobe mentioned.

I've been watching this drug for about a year. If I recall, the drug is activated by the PSA produced in the prostate. It causes cell death but only prostate cells. There is another drug called topsalysin. Recent Information is kind of hard to find. If you stumble on something post it up. If your post gets "moderated" please PM me.

I read cell death but is that shrinkage or a hole in the tissue ?

good question, i'm guessing it shrinks at the target tissue dies and it reshapes itself after all the healing is done. i cant imagine it will look like swiss cheese after!

Google topsalysin then go to the manufacturer's website. They have a video of how their drug works
