fexofenadine hydrochloride

Finally no more hayfever :D BUT now my face has swollen, I look like I've been boxing sad one hell of a side effect!!!

    I just started to use Fexofenadine in Allegra.

    My cough stopped, the sneezing is better, the red eyes are gone but I feel angry and depressed and have gained 8 pounds in 1 and a half month.

    I don't know what is better anymore....

    I began my experience with hives (continuous for about 12 weeks before seeing a consultant) and a sudden onset of swelling, face looked like i'd gone ten rounds with Mike tyson, throat swelling and body swelling. Consultant put me on 2 x 180mg fexofenadine hydrochloride, 2 x 10mg cetirizine hydrochloride and 1 x 150mg ranitidine and epi pens incase of swelling. Hives are almost at zero and the swelling stops but if I forget a set of tablets it's back again.

    Had allergy testing and not allergic to anything so still no further forward with the cause but at least I don't have the symptoms but I have also put on weight a stone in several months although part of this may be down to being less active since becoming unwell (also have just been told I may have arthritus in the hips).

    Hope this info helps someone.

    YES, I'VE THE SAME PROBLEM - ITCHING STARTED ALL OF SUDDEN IN 2011 SEPTEMBER AND FROM SSEPTEMBER 2011 TILL JUNE 2012, I WAS TAKING HYDROXYZINE HYDROCHLORIDE - THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT I HAVE GAINED IS UNBELIEVEBLE, I USED TO SLEEP A LOT AND FELT LAZY TOO SO THEN DECIDED TO TALK TO MY DOCTOR. SINCE JUNE 2012, I'M TAKING FEXOFENADINE NOW I CANT SLEEP AT ALL, IT DOES HELP WITH THE ITCHYNESS BUT STILL STRUGGLING WITH THE WEIGHT - SINCE SEP 2011 AND ITS JAN 2013 NOW - I'VE GAINED 20KGS. I TRIED TO CUT DOWN ON FEXOFENADINE AND STARTED EXCERCISE BUT I WAS BACK TO SQUARE ONE, FELT ITCHY AND HAD TEARS IN MY EYES TOO. IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING, I'M STUCK WITH FEXOFENDINE ALL MY LIFE NOW I GUESS, I'M GAINING WEIGHT DUE TO FEXOFENADINE - NO MATTER HOW MUCH I WORK OUT AND IF I STOP TAKING IT THINKING ABOUT MY WEIGHT THEN I FEEL ITCHY LIKE ANYTHING - PLS HELP IF SOMEONE HAS SAME ISSUES AS ME.
