Hi.i am 31 years old. Have had constant pain all over my body for months, muscles aches and joints hurt.i wake up all stiff abd have pains in my feet.i am always tired and my sleep is very on and off.i am always tired and generally exhausted.

My hair has also started to fall out at times.i get pins and needles and numbness in my arms and legs too.

I went to gp who did some blood tests which came back all clear.they lut me on amitryptiline tableta but they didnt help at all. Im still in pain every day its unbearable. I went back to gp again and she went through all my symptoms and has said its possibly fibromyalgia. She has put me on duloxetine tablets 20mg twice a day to help control the pain.

Does this sound like fibro?

Any advice please.

Fibromyalgia knows no boundaries. Sadly it is many symptoms. The meds you have been put on have been prescribed to me. Ask your gp to refer you to a rheumatologist who can make a sound diagnosis and go from there. I'm currently trying out a few things, mindfulness and dealing with sleep through physio. It's hard being in pain but know that you are not alone

Yes Oompa, your statement is so true. No boundaries at all. I was referred to a rheumatologist and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia almost 2 years ago. And I still have many different pains that comes and goes. The last few days I have been suffering from TMJ, which is extremely painful. But I must say the meds never take the pain away completely but it does ease the survality of the pain to help me cope through the day. I can remember many painful sleepless nights and almost unbearable days. So a rheumatologist can help you figure out what works best for you. And don't get discouraged because it may a take a while to figure out the right combo.

Sounds like mine when I first started getting symptoms.  The worst pain that I have is if someone pokes me.  Anywhere, it doesn't hurt at first, but in about 30 seconds it feels like I have been punched.  The pain moves to different places in your body, some days are good others you cant get out of bed.  I have been on several of the medications, and I found that the Cymbalta/Duloxetine was the best, but it made me have heart palpitations, I felt manic and had the brain zaps. I was started on 60mg.  I now take nothing because nothing works. Once you are down, it is hard to get up, Depression set in for me quickly. I am back to not sleeping even taking Benadryl.  I have learned that this is something you have to grab ahold of yourself or your not going to have a decent quality of life.  Yes there are medications that can ease the pain, take it away, no.  I maxed out on the lyrica at 650mg per day.  Its all trial and error with the meds.  I am going to make a trip to the herbal store and see if they have something that may benefit this hot mess.  I know that when I was doing physical therapy for a short while (because I did nothing and my body stiffened up) that I felt wonderful.  so.   I am joining the YMCA this month as the month of Oct. they wave the joiners fee.  This will allow me to slowly work on increasing my muscle strength, which is minimal, swim, which will allow me to stretch and if I really get on a roll, I would like to join a yoga class.  I am also purchasing a 299.00 hot tub from Walmart.  For some reason being in the bath tub makes me feel better, so I am hoping the jets will pound against my frozen, stiff muscles and relax them enough with a Benadryl and glass of red wine to put this bear to bed.  I feel your pain, as must of us with fibro do.  it sucks, but like I said, pull yourself up from your boot straps and change a few things in your daily life style.  Its hard to do, but I am learning this is the only way to salvation and im 49, and have only had this nightmare for 4 years.

    Hope this helps!
