Fibro and allodynia (skin sensory issues)

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have been suffering from very painful skin sensory pain where my skin hurts without anything touching it and it feels like sunburn. I've had this now for 5 days and it moves to different areas of my body usually staying on one side but each day it has moved from my belly to my back to my thigh. I have had this many times before but it usually doesn't last this long just wondering if many have this issue and what you do for the pain..

    Hi Suzie,

I've found this to be a very regular thing with fibromyalgia. I wish I was able to give you some brilliant advice or rapid remedy for this but sadly I cannot. I'm still trying to find one myself. However, I simply try to dress as comfortably as is possible when my skin feels this way. Comfy, loose fitting PJ's are best but alas not always practical. I try to avoid any tight clothing such as tight elastics, waistbands that don't give such as jeans etc. I aum for the materials that are softest next to my skin. Sports bras can be a godsend on these days or those pretty crop top style that are non wired and have no fastenings at the back. No VPL lingerie is an absolute essential for me too as I find these types of clothing/underwear are the worst culprits on days where my skin is sore to the touch.

As always though if you are worried and consider it to be outside of the norm for you or finding it too painful then a visit to your GP is always advised.

Sorry that I could not be of more help.
