Fibro pain? Or what??
Posted , 8 users are following.
Been on Amitriptyline 10mg for over a month now, not noticed any improvements and my Dr still hasn't booked me an appointment with a Rheumatologist to confirm if I actually have Fibromyalgia or not!
I was pain free for two days straight which was great, but today has been horrible...
Short throbbing pains. Sometimes sharp.
One in my left Calf muscle.
Then in my inner left thigh.
Then in my neck on the left side.
Then in my head!
Almost like the pain is moving up and down my left side......nothing in my right side at all.
Is this in the "normal" spectrum of pain for Fibromyalgia??
I've not actually been able to discuss it with anyone so I have no idea what I'm dealing with or if it's even Fibromyalgia at all!!
It's frustrating as hell and I just want things back to normal

Welcome to the world of Fibro. Unfortunately, the pains of Fibro can be random and some days will be better than others. Fibro is different for all but the pains are as random as they come and go.
Until you have not had a confirmed diagnosis of Fibro you don't know what will work best for you.
I have been suffering for over 20yrs but only diagnosed Aug 2014. Since finding out I have had CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) referred to by my GP. Also have been trying herbal remedies of which you would like to more about, you can always message me privately. These herbal remedies I have been taking since 2015 although it has been a slow process, it has definitely been a positive one. Pains have reduced by 90% and the only issues I am dealing with are tiredness and sleep. So have seen a big difference in myself over the past 12 months.
Wishing you all the best and hope others on this forum will support you further.
Take care and sending you gentle warm hugs from ME to YOU.... xx

I get these types of pains too, I get them a lot in my hands and feet, but I did get them in my temple a while back. One minute I am fine, then a pain can shoot through my finger and I can't use it at all , then it's gone. I am learning to live with it and try not to worry too much about it. Easier said than done I know !
Take care
Amanda

One Dr I saw just by chance changed my whole life just by putting me on a combination of 2 or 3 meds.
What are u on now. What have u tried???
I'll happily share my med details.
I'm still not working but I can get out of bed and walk and manage a cute little 5 yr old little fairy my daughter.

Unfortunately this has all only just started recently amd still no idea what triggered it
Only been on the Amitriptyline 10mg for a month and a half but still not convinced it is Fibromyalgia....but I think until I get to see a Rheumatologist I still have to keep taking the Amitriptyline and hope for the best x

If u do have Fibromyalgia ........... we all get passed around the different specialists and unfortunately because it's not yet understood we often come away from specialist with a mixture of emotions. Saying that there are some fantastic people out there working in health and Dr s with more current thinking.
There are a lot of us with Fibromyalgia that get passed around the ists.
I'm not trying to be negative just completely open and honest.
Ull prob get a fantastic dr that is amazing and very helpful. Good luck.
Happy New Year. I wish everybody happiness and health.
Zoe.
