I have been having a lot of stomach issues over the last 2 month a seem to get a dull ache bellow my sternum to the left and right to the left and right of my belly button as well and 3 inches above my belly botton. I also sometimes feel the dull ache under my left rib. I really didn't need this new symptom on top all my other fibro pain. Anyone else have cronic stomache pain. Hi Becka, Iv been suffering with my stomach over the past few months

It started of with a burning just under my sternum and under my ribs and above my belly button, now it's changed to a dull ache like yours, but my stomach has started to swell up extremely painful to the touch looks a distorted shape on times ( Iv normaly a flatish stomach )

Iv also started suffering from a lot of wind and could go to the toilet to open my bowels several times a day where I would be lucky to go once or twice a week if I was lucky,

    Anyone else have these problems,

I do have a hospital appointment in two weeks and I will mention this as a new problem

I'm sorry I'm no help to you as this is new to me to,

Hope you've had a good day

Any swelling, especially of the stomach/abdomen, needs reporting to your GP, just to be safe, especially when there are changes in bowel habits. Typical IBS is when you start the day with little or no bloating, and it increases as the day goes on - same with wind - as your digestion settles at night...

Remember ladies IBS and fibro are connected and both sound like ibs pain I have had ibs for 20+ year and it's underestimated as it's a very sore condition at times

Hi becka, there are so many symptoms to fibro, I have Ibs had it for years. Last couple of years i have had pains ither side ect , like a stitch can have me doubled over at times. Also ribs are very sore. Thought a few times could be an apendix. I went to the doctors a few times even had a scan. But nothing ever showed up. I am on Amatriptalene and duloxatine and now i get muscle tension in my stomach area and legs at night on and off all night not sure if its meds causing this or just another syptom to add to the list . be a bonus if it gave a flat tummy ha ha. Check it with your doctor all the same. Hugs and hope you get sorted.

I am nearly 43 and i fart like a trooper stomach blows up loo all the time you know the score added the mix fibro & fits. Wearing big knickers elasticated pants soooooo hot.comfort first. Worse when i work have to bottle them up until i get home that hurts the worst.ahh well husband and kids are used to me, they might not sit with me ha ha. But i am loved. Hugs

Hi Becka, I have fibro and get lots of stomach problems including IBS and muscle soreness under my ribs and went for an ultrasound which found nothing physically wrong. Fibro can affect us in many ways even though it can seem invisible at times. Your stomach may also be sore from swollen glands which are everywhere in our body but my rhumetologist told me that fibro sufferers will often get swollen glands that flare up and are likely to cause pain in the neck armpit, groin and stomach but as they are so deep in the stomach  it is hard to feel for them. try not to worry too much as this can make things worse x

    Hi,

IBS is a nightmare at times with all the symptoms you mention but I

get lots of wind etc. This is combined with FMS as another pain and

muscle contraction leading to spasms. BUT as you have had a change in the way yourIBS now presents itself to you , it wouldn't hurt to go and get it checked out with your GP.

Let us know how you get on.
