FIBRO SYMPTOMS & SEVERE B12 DEFICIENCY

Hi all, iv'e had fibro for a few years now and had variouse symptoms like ,pins and needles all over my body, tinnitus & noise sensitivity, pain, fatigue, dizzyness black outs, excessive sweating and exercise intollerence to name a few. iv'e moved house and now have a new GP who i happend to mention my pins and needles getting worse and vision problems so she did a full blood test you know the one that does your full blood count, live function, thyroid and all your vitamins.. the one that usually comes back completely normal except for maybe vitamin D. but this time it came back with a severe vit B12 deficiency, a score of only 70 so very low, i have to have injections to raise my levels and might be on them for life, my question is will these injections make me feel any better, could it improve my fibro symptoms as well, i ask because the symptoms for fibro and the ones i have from low B12 are identical..

Has anyone else had this combination?. did you get any relief?..

Thank you.

    Hi Hun

I have low b12 low folic low iron and vit d ! I've had all the medication but it still hasn't gone unfortunately. It's strange because every time I have my bloods done my levels are everywhere, I find a lot of fibro suffers have low blood counts etc

Hi sadie, yeah i didn't mention i also have low vit D,iron and folate which i have tablets for.  The doctor said that low B12 has a different underlying cause though which had to be investigated.. i'm just hoping that the injections make me feel less tired and calms the parasthesia.

Hi Gill, I have found that taking vit B12 supplements or any other for that matter, are not as a effective as having it in whole foods. Juicing is a great way to get the nutrients our bodies crave. I have a NutriBullet that blends everything to a smooth drink and I make sure my juice is mainly green. Kale and Spinach are excellent. Plus I find that things I don't particularly like to eat, can be blended in the juice. So pumpkin seeds, nuts and even dulce for our dose of iodine for the thyroid, can easily be added. Juicing I have found, is an amazing way to get the vitamins and minerals we don't seem to absorb otherwise. Just a thought. Maggie xx
