Fibro woes

Hi guys,

I went to my doctor on Friday because I have been having migraines for a month, my fatigue is the worst it has ever been, and the Lyrica isn't working for my pain anymore. I asked him if he could try me on a different kind of medication but he said he won't try me on a different one until I have seen the rheumatologist. So he gave me Tylex and told me to take that with the Lyrica to try and control the pain. So now I am exhausted and drugged. Did any of you face this trouble when you were diagnosed? I sent my letter to the hospital for a rheumatology appointment but have yet to hear back from them. This hopsital also has a reputation for being very slow when it comes to appointments so I am worried that I am going to be in a lot of pain for a long time with no way to handle it. Have you any suggestions to help me with this?

My sister in law suffers badly with migraines...she has them daily....anyway her neurologist gave her Botox as a last resort - she wished it had been the first resort..she hasn't had one for soo many days..apparently the injection isn't  of course for cosmetic reasons and it is injected at different places ...:-) xx

Wow, never heard of botox being used in that way. Glad it worked for her, I will see what my doctor says about it smile

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having such a bad expeience, and not being helped much. I don't know if you can take ibuprofen and paracetamol with your drugs, but they work well together and can help with the pain. If you can do things like rest when the pain gets bad, I find that works sometimes. If you are pacing yourself and trying to avoid stress, that might also help. Easier said than done! I know some sufferers take a bath with Epsom salts in it and that helps. Truthfully I have been doing that but not noticed any improvement, praps you have to do it more than once a week.

Just some suggestions that I hope might help.

    Take care, Anne

I was taking them together before my doctor gave me Tyles, they weren't helping much. I can still take ibuprofen with the Tylex though so I will give that a shot smile. I haven't tried an epsom salts bath so I will definitely be giving that a go (Love my baths).

      Thanks for the suggestions smile
