Fibro yoga?
Posted , 4 users are following.
I was only diagnosed about two months ago, and so far my medication hasn't done much good. I told my rheumatologist that yesterday at my appointment and she told me that there's not much they can do for me in the way of medication, other than adding a muscle relaxer to help me sleep (which is not my problem). I'm in too much pain to drive, or to walk to my classes without falling most days. Even having my hands elevated to the table long enough to type this is painful.
Her main piece of advice was to remain as active as possible. Being a 21 year old full-time college student/waitress apparently isn't active enough, so she suggested yoga. Does anyone have any suggestions as to any yoga videos directed toward those with chronic pain problems? I worry that trying to do a "normal" yoga routine will use too many of my daily spoons.
Thank you.

Hi Miranda. I actually start my day with gentle yoga that you can do. I actually do yoga that is designed for senior citizens. I would follow a seated yoga program that I found on cable. And also used a yoga ball to stretch out my back.
I also take Epsom and baking soda baths 3 times a week. Helps relax my muscles before bed. And if needed I take magnesium supplement and place salonpas pads on any still aching parts. Helps through the night so I'm not as stiff in the am.
Hope this helps.

I had to change my diet and lifestyle first and then I found a place by me that they would do physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, accupuncture and finish with a massage. It worked wonders for me. But I had to go to several places before I found what worked for me.
Keep me posted. We learn by sharing.
