Fibroid after menopause

Has anyone had a fibroid diagnosed post menopause? My GP referred me to gynecology but I'm really worried it's cancer. Please help if you can.

    hello

I was diagnosed with several tiny fibroids after menopause which is backwards since high estrogen usually causes fibroids. anyway its fine and doubt its cancer. as long as you don't have bleeding or pain

Thank you so much for replying, I've no bleeding just a bit of an ache in my pelvis. I have quite bad vaginal atrophy which makes me very uncomfortable and gives me pretty bad urinary issues x

    Hi Lisa,

Not me (I'm still trying to get to menopause), but 2 of my Mom's sisters had fibroids diagnosed after menopause. One had hysterectomy, one just lived with them, and neither was ever diagnosed with cancer of any kind after.

I know it's hard, but try not to worry~~
