Fibroids

Hi, Just after some advice really. I had a LO cyst diagnosed recently, did the blood test, all normal. However have been told that i have a 7cm Fibroid, (is that big)? Doc seemed unconcerned said should shrink. I had a postmenopausal bleed in July. I was told that, that was just hormonal!? Im wondering if this Fibroid will shrink? as it seems my body still thinks its in its 30's! with the period and understand that Fibroids feed off hormones. Oestrogen etc.
I have over the past year intermittently had stomach pain and bowel problems, diarrhoea, haemorrhoids, which im now thinking are perhaps linked to this Fibroid! I have stomach pain mainly at night and was thinking could it be Fibroid pressing on bowel? also have the need occasional to urinate frequently. I have contacted my GP to ask about this and see if I can get medication for it. I wondered if any other ladies on here have experienced this.

Fibroids was the reason I had my hysterectomy 20 yrs ago in my early 30s. I had 2, one the size of a softball which was actually part of my uterus and mistaken for my daughter's twin in my first ultrasound (never had problems prior besides bad cramps and heavy flow so no idea i had it). Developed a second a couple years later after my son was born. Always had heavy periods from age 9, which probably explains why I started my period so young, doc thinks I was born with the large one, it was literally part of my uterus as stated. Several years after my son was born my periods were beyond painful and more like a dam was breaking. The gyno at the time did a D&C and nicked the large one which caused me to hemorrhage and I became very anemic. I literally bled for 2 months straight, a box of tampons a day and pads! He then wanted to do an ablation to which I refused! I had my tubes tied after my son at 21, so I just wanted it out. He refused so I went to another gyno on a Friday and was scheduled for surgery Monday. They were pumping me full of iron bc I had almost none. The fibroids were benign. My surgery was done vaginally and they took everything but my ovaries bc I was so young. (Easiest surgery ever, Surgery on Monday, came home Tuesday and was playing dart league Friday lol). Wish I would have had the ovaries taken too and got over this crap when I was young and healthy. so that's my long winded fibroid saga lol.
For the most part fibroids are nothing to worry about but they can be trouble makers. Hopefully you get sorted out and all will be well!
