Fibroids

Hi Ladies 😦 just wanted some advice re Fibroids - postmenopausal bleeding. I had a postmenopausal bleed end of July, - I am 56 and finished my periods end 2019.

I phoned my GP and got on to the 2 week pathway and was seen 2nd August for an transvaginal ultrasound. I have a 3cm cyst Dermoid Cyst, which i have since been told its benign together with a CA125 blood test - Since early July I have been waking up 3 time a night on average with stomach cramps, diarrhoea (thin stools) since then off and on, lower back pain, stomach gurgling. Went to UTS at my local hospital and was told (as i thought i might have) i have a prolapse, (rectocele) I also have haemorrhoids. I have read and feel the stomach cramps and diarrhoea is potentially connected to the 7 cm Fibroid that i have or hormonal activity that is affecting my bowel.

I have contacted my GP but like everything at the mo, they wont see you face to face but only by Telephone consultation. I have as of Monday this week had another postmeno bleed. I have had awful stomach cramps and what feels like constipation, feel like there is an obstruction in bowel, or perhaps bowel not working properly, feeling like i want to go but nothing there.

I just wondered if anyone else has experience of this, at my wits end as i feel that no one will listen to me. I was told by Dr the other day that after nearly 2 years with no period that a 2nd menopause bleed is normal and just hormonal!!!???

      Hi 😃

Thanks so much for your reply. Feel in the wilderness here. I don't know re Fibroid where it is but its 7cm and Dr said mine to, is about the size of a golf ball. I had a postmeno bleed 23rd July, rang my GP and she put me on the 2 week pathway for a tranvaginal ultrasound and CA125 blood test. All ok, apparently a benign Dermoid Cyst went to see Dr at hospital re results 2 weeks ago and he just talked about cyst, he casually mentioned 7cm Fibroid. I should have asked him, what type it was and where it was, (i could kick myself now) 😦

I have been super stressed since I had this postmeno bleed and I have had bowel issues since beginning of July, prior to postmeno bleed 23.7.21 i wake up in the middle of the night for a poo, about 3 times a night with stomach cramps, gurgling tummy, gas, massively hormonal too with it, cant stop crying when i wake up and tired from getting up in the middle of the night. I range from having diarrhoea to semi normal, then diarrhoea again, some undigested food as well. (i always used to get Diarrhoea when i had periods in the past) so not sure if all connected.

I went to UTC at my local hospital on Monday this week, as got in a state about it as had another postmeno bleed (lasted 3 days like a normal period for me) sore boobs, hormonal, this happened this Monday just gone 6.9.21. This time with awful stomach cramps. I was seen by a Dr who diagnosed a vaginal prolapse (rectocele) wasn't specified but she said i need to be seen by my GP. I tried to contact my local surgery, could not get an appointment, just a telephone appointment 17th September!! After going online on surgery website detailing problem, I have since been having an on-going conversation about checking my bowel re colonoscopy, but i think that perhaps all of this is related to the period/fibroid/hormones, being menopausal, but just feel like i going down a myriad of rabbit holes, trying to find what is wrong, could be wrong and causing the issue i have at night. I do not have stomach pain during the day. So it does feel like this fibroid could be potentially pushing on my bowel. I have lower back ache at night as well. I am hoping to get an emergency gyne appointment next week. So will keep my fingers crossed that i get some answers.

I am 56 and not had a period for over a year!! I just wish all of this would stop.
