Fibroids online emotional support

Soooo I was diagnosed with fibroids two months ago. I was quite happy that I had finally been diagnosed after suffering with anaemia and having very painful periods that lasted more than 7 days. I’m currently waiting to have surgery, it’s a very emotional waiting game. I realised that throughout this journey I haven’t spoken to someone that really understands what it feels like to have fibroids. I decided to make this page to talk to others who are going through the same thing. We can support Each other, share tips etc. Support goes a long way

Hi Ola you are not alone. I had 13 that were removed by abdominal myomectomy in May. I am glad I did. I don't look 6 mths preggie anymore. I am still healing. Just remember ittakes time and its major Surgery. You won't regret it.

Hi Ola, I’m almost 6wks post op from abdominal hysterectomy and recovering well and delighted to be free of those life draining fibroids! I received some really good practical info on here prior to my surgery which really made a big difference to me. Also, the reassurance on here was priceless. I had been blissfully unaware of fibroids until I was in a&e with a very large degenerating one. What I didn’t realise is how they can drain you prior to treatment so be prepared for that. I was so lethargic and even small tasks felt like such an effort, probably due to the low iron etc. I also learned on here how they can press on nerves etc and cause back/leg pain among other things so all my symptom last started to make sense when I read about others and their experiences. You’re not alone so ask about anything you’re unsure of and eat of luck with your treatment!
