Tina, I've owned 2 water beds and Loved them. But as I got older and less able to do a lot of things, I had to give up water beds, too much work for me. BUT about 5 yrs ago I ended up with a Sleep Number bed (air mattress type) with remote control for solfter or firmer....I have a double size as I'm a LONE sleeper and love this bed.....sleep good (with sleep combo I have) but still wake up stiff but I sleep all in all. As I see it, the air is closest to water. J

that sounds interesting to joy, these water beds pretty much look after them self selves once up and inflated ,they have foam channels which absorb and holds the water so the more channels the more firmness ,

My story on How a waterbed entered my life. I was in outside sales for about 9 yrs back in the late 70's and on a trip to Vancouver and I was running late and when I went to check into my hotel, they told me all they had was a waterbed...I thought Yikes, what if I can't sleep, would they change me in the middle of the night....

I've had a lower back issue starting at 18, so back was always an issue....

That night was the best night's sleep and I woke up with NO aching back.

Once I got back home I started to work on getting a waterbed for my bedroom....that was a real great "wake up"......J

    Hi Tina,

i thought you bought that £1000 Massage bed, did you find that unsuitable, a Waterbed sounds ok though, can you adjust the firmness?
