just wondering has anyone been diagnosed with this once they have not been referred for surgery following herniated discs?

    yes, I was diagnose and have never had any surgery, but I do have osteo arthritis in my neck

    We too.  What medication were you put on?  I don't like the sound of gabapentin.  Everyone seems to have gained loads if weight which then creates another health issue.

    ive been put in an antidepressant as well as gabapentin although I am not depressed although now I am not sleeping!

      I haven't taken any medication, the doctor wanted me to take some antidepressants but I didn't want them because of the side effects, so I haven't been on anything but ibuprofen and I can't really take that too much because of my stomach, so it all gets me down as I'm not able to get a break from it all.

      Its difficult with sleeping patterns, and you have to be careful taking cocktails of drugs which a lot of doctors just hand out. It is difficult to manage things but I always think that if you can natural products are the way to go, and they are less or not addictive too depending on what you take.

      It seems that quite a few people on here have problems with the spine, like osteoarthritis.

    I have 3 prolapsed discs in my neck and because I tell the Dr's honestly that I have pain all over they diagnosed Fibro, it has become so frustrating I wish they would do the surgery on my neck and then see how the rest of my body goes after it
