Fibromyalgia and Restless Leg Syndrome?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 42 year old male. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2006. It started several years before with an uncomfortable feeling of heavy, aching legs, especially when i was resting. Later on the pain spread more and more to my ankles, knees and hip, and a rheumatologist told me i had fibromyalgia. Over the years the pain got worse over my whole body, but still my legs are my biggest problem. Beside having pain in my joints my legs often feel as if i just finished running a marathon. Especially when i’m resting or go to sleep. A feeling as if my legs are still active, while the rest of my body needs rest.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is Fibromyalgia and RLS ( neurological ) related?

Hi I have researched this online and it does say RLS is a symptom of Fibro. I suffer with it too. Hope you find some relief!

I'm sorry to hear you suffer the same. I have not seen a link between FM and RLS before but was curious if more FM patient have the same. I'm afraid for both conditions there is not much hope for a cure.

      Wish you all the best!
