How long have you been on it, are you taking any other meds, I have been on it 6 months and a bit worried about getting addicted, I understand it also wears off over time.

I've also been on it about 6 months was on something much stronger before. I try not to take it every night and that way it seems to work for me. On a really bad night I do two though x

    Dear patricia17763

I started off at 3.75 x 2 tablets but have now moved up to 7.50 x twice a day.

I try not to take them all the time but I have to take them when things get very bad.

Anything that helps me to get a good night's sleep during a bad spell is necessary.

Does the level of your pain vary very much

    Best wishes

How long have you been on them, I take one 3.75 every night, tried one night without  and never slept a wink, I know that they gradually lose there  effect, and am a little worried about that, been on them for 6months.

My anxiety makes my pain worse. Do you take  any other meds

      Regards

      Pat

I would say that it does help but you may be at risk of dependency < i had to increase ny dosage as the pain grew worse. at the moment i'm on 2 x7.5 at night.

it seems to get me off to sleep which is so important.

I used Zopliclone but found I had a blurry head the next day. My ex-GP was insistent these are only to be used for a maximum of 14 nights until you get into a routine, but dont think she appreciates that routine tends not to be a feature with FM! To sleep, I now use music, something soft and mellowing, also meditation and breathing exercises. Whilst it might not make me sleep, it definately calms me down, so at least the body gets a rest when the thoughts and brain are quiet. I can empathise with the anxiety, particularly at bedtime but simple breathing exercises are fab for me. Sounds silly but I take a long slow breaths counting to four in and same exhaling, slowly, repeat 4 times, or more if you want, it tends to calm me down and I prefer it to sleeping pills. I learnt this while doing a Heartmath class, where you sync your breathing with your heart rate. Def helps with palpatations and anxiety. If you can get to a class or homeopathic hospital/clinic, they also provide fab sleeping aids/techniques. Good luck in mastering your sleep, it's hugely important for me as without it, everything appears much worse, not to mention I get grumpy!

Yes, Patricia, I do. I have had the condition for so long plus I have to take meds for other things like blood pressure, statins, allergy pills and others. The pain pills I take are tramadol and duloxetine. I also take codeine and meds for the bowels.

I think a good night's sleep is the most important way to be able to cope so I shall try not to take the zopiclone all the time but It is necessary for me.

Have a good day if you can
