Fighting for child benefit. Help?.

My husband and I separated a while ago. He had since been claiming the child benefit but since I've found out that he's not using the money appropriately I have put a claim in to take it off him as I have put child the majority of the time so am entitltled to it etc. He's fighting to keep it with not a leg to stand on. ( there's a bit of back ground) anyway... the claim has been put on hold for weeks now. Does anyone know if it'll get back dated from when I submitted the claim as the money was stopped?

    Hi Jodi yes it will be backdated once it's decided who is actually entitled to it, it is usually paid to the parent who has custody of said child/children and their is no designated items it has to be used for.

      No problem, I hope they sort it quickly for you so that the child/children don't suffer from lack of payments, their normally a lot faster sorting child based benefits.

      Oh god no, no worries about going without but thank you. It's only taking so long because of him dragging his feet
