Finally assembled my anti-GH/outbreak kit!

With my primary outbreak of genital HSV-2 seemingly out of the way, I am now ready to take on future ones! Not that I want to (ugh!), but just in case, I have been amassing a small stockpile of anti-GH/outbreak supplies, lol.

Not sure if I need anything else, but so far I have daily multivitamins and fish oil, as-required probiotics and bee pr0p0lis (drops, capsules and candies), tea tree oil, zinc oxide cream and Epsom bath salts, plus an array of nightly herbal teas (Echinacea, liquorice root, St John's wort, etc.). Also, a small supply of emergency valacyclovir and disposable razors for any potential bikini area shaving.

Lol, not sure if I've overdone it, but better to preempt and be prepared! Anyone else assembled an anti-GH/outbreak kit? Hard to believe, but researching, looking for and buying everything almost made having this cursed affliction fun, lmao. Now I just have to hope that I rarely need to use most of the stuff I bought!!

Do you have Type 1 or 2, with or without prior oral HSV-1? Curious, as HSV type and partial cross-immunity can make all the difference, although exceptions exist in all cases.

Since I only acquired this wretched virus just over a month ago, I wanted to strengthen my body in the first few months/year, while it adjusts. At this point, I also don't know how many outbreaks I'll get. Hopefully very few, like you!

I have been attempting to do the same sort of thing, trouble is there are so many differrent options out there and differrent vitamins/supplements i have no idea where to start! i just want to be prepared, hopefully it will make me feel like i have some sort of control over this.

How did you get on with the tee tree or the epsom bath salt? These were the ones i was thinking of stocking up on. Also ive been taking a daily immune boosting supplement and some olive leaf extract supplements. Others have reccommended lysine supplements, but there seem to be some nasty side effcts so im not sure? I think searching for homeopathic remedies is helping, its quite therapeutic and making me feel less helpless...

I guess that's why I did it, too. Feels good to be proactive and prepared, and it really is therapeutic to research things and select your own personalised arsenal against GH, etc. Shopping is always therapeutic, too!

As for tea tree oil, I love it!! Now that I've discovered what it feels like to use down below (I swab all over and in between; dilute first for sensitive areas), I'd use it even if I didn't have GH! Leaves you feeling cool and refreshed, helps reduce itching, plus it's antiseptic. Just smells a tad medicinal.

I've not used Epsom salts yet, but loads of people do for GH and swear by it, so I picked up a small bag. I don't fancy the idea of soaking my entire body in a bath during an outbreak, so I just need to pick up a small tub to sit in, lol.

I started taking general multivitamins and fish oil daily, but have other supplements for occasional use or during an outbreak. I don't want to be on too many things on a daily basis, even if natural. Too expensive, unnecessary and may conflict with other supplements.

Olive leaf oil seems beneficial. I've not added that to my kit yet, but should! After much reading, I decided to forget lysine. The leading STD/HSV experts don't suggest it (no scientific proof that it helps with GH), besides which you get enough lysine from a balanced diet anyway, and too much isn't so good for you.

I like the sound of bee pr0p0lis (using zeroes, because site admin held up my post the last time - no idea why!). Has many uses, good for immunity, supposedly helps against HSV and also allergies (provided you're not allergic to bee products, lol), so that had me sold! Good to support bee businesses, too. smile

Yesterday, I checked out a local traditional Chinese medicine store and found a bag of dried Prunella vulgaris / "Self-Heal" (夏枯草, xia ku cao). Looks kinda gross, like ugly lavender, but you can use the dried flower heads to make tea. Recent studies have found P. vulgaris to be effective against HSV and is used for this and other ailments by the Chinese. I'll let you know what it tastes like!
