Finally beat Threadworm, here's how I did it.

Firstly I want to say that I am not a medical doctor and so medical advice should be taken before taking any medication listed below.

I started having the itchy bottom symptoms around September 2011 and booked in an appointment with my doctor. The doctor said it was nothing serious and told me to take Anusol cream for the itch. There is no doubt that the Anusol cream did relieve the itching symptoms for a few hours but I was constantly waking up throughout the night with a horrible urge to itch. It got so bad that I was getting constant baths every few hours just to provide some sort of relief. I was very tired and irritable the next day in work and started feeling depressed and even started losing weight as my appetite had gone.

At the time I was single (30 year old man) with no kids and so thought threadworm would be unlikely the cause and perhaps it was piles. The itching just seemed to get worse and worse even during the day so I started researching the internet for hours and hours and decided it must be threadworms. I also confirmed the presence of threadworm by excreting into a large piece of tinfoil around the toilet seat and the small white thread like worms were visible although not in great numbers.

I took the Ovex (mebendazole) tablet and after 2 or 3 days the itching decreased and finally stopped. I was so thankful that this ordeal was over, then to my horror the symptoms started to appear again after about a week. I immediately took another Ovex and followed a very strict hygiene routine of changing my sheets every day and washing the bath / shower etc with bleach. All carpets were vacuumed and door handles wiped down.

Again I was given several days where the itching stopped but it wasn’t long before the dreading wriggling sensation returned as soon as I got into bed at nights and I was back to square one. I remember feeling so down, I had to cancel a date and just sat in the house depressed and looking up websites about threadworm for hours and hours. It finally got to the point where I was so depressed that I wondered if life was worth living any more. I read many posts online about people who have had this condition for 20+ years which didn’t help my situation.

I remember one night while sitting in the bath at about 2am having being woken up by the itch, I said to myself I am going to beat this problem once and for all. I decided to research herbal remedies and read pages of useful information on how to beat the worms once and for all. I must say that a lot of the useful tips came from this website which is why I have decided to post my experience here in the hope it helps others out.

Materials Needed

The first thing to do is order the following 3 products from Organic nutrition:

50ml Black Walnut Hull Extract (extra strength tincture)

120 Clove Capsules

120 Wormwood Capsules

Full instructions

Total cost = £36.75

1 x Dust Mask which can be bought in a DIY store

1 x Nail Brush

1 x packet of Ovex

1 x Packet of pumpkin seeds from a health store

1 x packet of odourless garlic capsules

4 x packets of chopped up pineapple chunks

Once all the materials and capsules have arrived, you need to do the follow:

Take 1 ovex tablet with water and while wearing the dusk mask you need to vacuum every inch of carpet especially in your bedroom. (The eggs can easily spread during this method so to prevent you from getting re-infected it is advised to wear a dust mask which covers your mouth and nose). After vacuuming, you need to change your bed sheets and wipe down all door handles, tap handles etc. Place the bed sheets and any towels in the wash at 90 degrees and iron once dry. This is the only way to be sure the eggs are killed.

The process must be repeated everyday for at least 10 days, I know it is a pain but believe me the end result is worth the hassle.

You should also start taking your Black Walnut, clove and wormwood capsules as per the instructions that come with them. Also try and eat a few handfuls of the pumpkin seeds throughout the day and take a portion of pineapple chunks daily. These are all well know anti-parasitic remedies that actually work. Follow this routine for 2 weeks.

Finally and very importantly, the eggs that may still be in your house can survive up to 2 weeks in normal conditions. If these are re-inhaled again then you are back to square one. I read in many forums that if the house is warmed up to 50 degrees then the eggs can only survive for 2 hours.

Every morning when I went to work, I left the heat on full blast for 9 hours at the highest temperature and opened the curtains in every room as the eggs are also sensitive to sunlight. Vacuumed every night with my dust mask on and tried not to eat fast foods but stuck to things like brown rice and vegetables.

I am happy to say that so far 2 months have past and the wriggling feeling has not returned and my life has got back to normal and I am now in a relationship again. I never found out how I originally got infected with threadworm but hopefully I have got rid of these horrible parasites once and for all.

I hope this helps some of you to rid these parasites and should you have any questions then please feel free to ask.

Thanks, Antiworm for your detailed posting.  Do you or anybody knows if high dose Albenza can be effective to kill pinworms for good?

I've been reading through this post and the excellent advice given. I would just like to add to it... I have found that if you follow a Keto diet, alongside all the other instructions, it starves/weakens the worms and makes the medication far more effective. Keto diet is a very low carb diet where you try to avoid all sugar and not too much protein (as that gets converted into glucose). It's hard at the beginning but once you lose your sugar cravings (after a few days) you will feel great! I would also recommend Diotomaceous Earth (food grade quality), but don't take at the same time as the worm tablets.

I have read that threadworm eggs can live for up to 21 days in a room. Assuming this to be correct, it becomes apparent that the 2 lots of Ovex (one dose and another 2 weeks later) may not be enough. People can reinfect themselves for a week after the 2nd dose! So another, 3rd dose is needed 2 weeks after the 2nd dose.

Why the manufacturers don't tell people this is beyond me!

Hi all I have had threadworms off and on since I was 16 I’m now 67. I have taken all the different worm medication available over the years,it would seem to work for a few months then back came the itchy bottom and nose. After reading all the post I’m now going to try pineapple and pumpkin seeds with the medication to see if that works. It would be great after 51 years to be free from an itchy bottom..

Hi there....hope you are still free of these nasty critters 6 years later in 2017.  I have been suffering with them for over 7 months now and I am as determined as you were in 2011 to rid myself of this affliction once and for all.  A couple of critical questions....1) Did you take 1 Ovex tablet every day for 10 days?  2) Did you take the herbs following the 10th day after taking the Ovex for 2 more weeks after that?  I think these questions are critical as I heard the herbs can interfere with the prescription drugs effectiveness.

Can you let me know at your earliest convenience.  I would be so grateful to finally get rid of this horrible menace to society.

    Thanks,

    Rick

I have had threadworms since 2013. After reading some of the stories on here I don't feel as if I'm the only one with this problem. I have noted some of the medications down from here and snap shotted a remedy to get rid of the wrigglys. Thank you.

After a couple of years suffering i finally found the way out of it and as this forum helped me to not give up, i would like give you all something back. My salvation was to simply close the cover of the toilet bowl before flushing, cause if you don't do this, the wormeggs spread all over the towels and so on. Thats why you aways get infected again and again. Hope this helps you all, too! :-)

Use Vaseline or Sudacrem just inside the rectum. The worms can't get through this oil and I suspect they are also killed.

As well as the using Sudacrem rectally which stops them coming out to lay eggs, you can take iodine drops and at least a good multivitamin and mineral to support the immune system

I have to say that I came to this same forum a year ago in hope that something would work. But I think everyones bodies are different in terms or how many worms you are battling. What type of worms are they and have you always had worms as a child?

Anyways I must say THANK YOU to the person of the original post although i tried out the method you used to the T but it never worked for me unfortunatley. It could be due to different reasons: reasons unknown. BUT I must say one thing that I did gain the confidence and the consistency to be doing whatever process or step you take toward getting rid of those pesty worms from your body for good.

when i went to my doc becoz the pharmacy worm medicine she had prescribed did not work on me, she prescribed me Anusol cream. Which is a cream for the purpose of relief of itching, burning & soreness of haemorrhoids and minor rectal inflamations and irritations.

The key lies here. I looked up many articles that told me the cycle of the worms. My basic sense told me if the female worm was not able to lay eggs outside the rectal area then eventually that cycle will stop as the worms will start to die internally on their own or if not lessen dramtically as no more eggs were formed. & if the female worm is no more then no more eggs remain eventaully. And that is what I think actually happened.

I would recommend trying your best not to itch that area as much as you can.

Through experience you will find that it will happen in the first few weeks but then ( IF) & I say ( IF Only) you are adamant you need these worms gone for good, you need to be CONSISTENT with your process and IT WILL WORK! THE WORMS WILL GO AWAY!

I have written up the method I used. This worked for me

    All you need is:

    Vasaline and

Anusol cream (may need to be prescribed by your doc)

At night before you go to bed:-

    1. take a tissue paper
    2. apply a chunk of Vasaline to the tissue paper
    3. insert it into your rectum as deep as your pointer finger can go and apply it internally as much as you can rotatin your finger a little so the gap is filled with Vasaline and the worms cannot come out.
    4. Then throw out the tissue paper
    5. Take ANUSOL cream and apply generously to the opening of the rectum
    6. use the same tissue paper and insert it into the rectum as you did before and let it be there for the night.
    7. Remove the tissue in the morning carefully when you go to the toilet and try and wash down your rectum with water or a feminine wash.
    8. better if you pass a bowl motion in the morning, so any worms that would have been stuck in the vasaline could be flushed out right away.
    9. once you have washed down that area well change your underwear to a new one every morning without fail & put the old one into a seperate wash so that the worms do not go anywhere else or affect any other family memebers.

Do this for as long as possible or until the WORMS STOP ITCHING YOU AND YOU KNOW SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT and you feel like you have been successful in getting rid of those pesty worms for good!

Please feel free to let me know your comments incase you try out this method.

    Remember CONSISTENCY is the key!

If i could get rid of those worms, you can too!

Congratulations for getting rid of them. They are driving me mad at the moment. Like you I have become irritable and grumpy. As a man I'm meant to deal with things but they cause so much discomfort. I also cant sleep because of the wriggling and itching. I avoid social situations at the moment because it's kind of hard to concentrate on conversations when I am in so much discomfort. Evenings are the worst time. I know that you aren't supposed to scratch but I'm driven to distraction and cant help it. That probably makes it worse.
