Finally got my appointment.. What will this entail?

Hi. So after years and years waiting for a diagnosis, followed by months and months of waiting for a referral, i finally have my appointment date through to see the CFS occupational therapist at the hospital. I'm curious for some insight into what this entails, and what will happen at the appointment and then going forward. Will they be able to help with my employment issues? I'm trying to get my boss to allow me flexible working from home on days when i can't manage to even get up to come into the office but she is of the view that ME/CFS is not exactly a real condition.
Many thanks in advance!

It’s all about coping strategies really they will teach you how to pace yourself rest properly etc.As for your employer in the uk the condition is covering under the disability act and therefore your employer should get an occupational health specialist involved who is independent. They then sit down with you and your employer and discuss how to help you manage the condition.I have had the same problems. But once you have notified the employer of your now recognised disability they have to treat you within the terms of the act.Hope that helps

I am pleased you have an appointment. I have not seen occupational therapist as I live in Spain and I was referred to a rheumatologist consultant who diagnosed me.
I hope you get some support. Whatever your employer believes this awful condition is very real and she will have to provide flexibility for you.
Good luck and let us know how you get on x

First appointment tends to be going through your history and seeing the level you are at, the system they work on is you keeping diaries.
Regarding helping with your employers it's not their job to do that but they may do a letter for you to take in as prove
Your boss has to follow equality act so even if she does not believe me/cfs is real that is tough luck reasonable adjustments need to be made because it's a disability so you put in verbal then written complaint if they still refuse.
