Finally home

I have not long been home after 8 days following my THR. Felt quite emotional saying goodbye to all the lovely staff that have cared for me and been there for all my ups and downs and total meltdowns.

I wasn't expecting the whole thing to be so hard emotionally! many of the lovely ladies I shared a ward with have had a good cry at some point in their stay in hospital.

I managed to get in the car with assistance from staff but struggled to get in my house even though there is only one step, it's quite high and there's no rail to hold.

Anyway I'm tucked up in my own bed now with a horlicks and my crutches and analgesia close at hand.

    Welcome home after 8 days I hope you have no pain and are able to walk with no pain...

    Concentrate on getting 1st week or 2 behind u. Ur over the biggest hurdle once ur home.

    Aww bless you that was a long stayvxx hope you are feeling loads better xx I had mine today so day 1 and I didn't think it would be so painful after but I'm in a lot of pain:-( I guessceveryone different cos lady opposite no pain and snoring her head off lol xx speedy recovery for you my lovely at lest the op is done and dusted I fretted big time about that lol xx the only way is onward and forward lots of love Vanessa xx

    expect to be a wee bit more emotional the coming hours, day etc - so much has happened - and no need to analyze them either - it is healing and cleansing -

    Vicki so happy you are home!!! It will all get MUCH easier surprisingly quickly. Every day you will feel better now - take it easy and enjoy fresh air and home comforts x
