Finally relief

Hi everyone,

I had a toothache in February of this year and went to have a filling replaced.  10 days later I suffered the excruciating pain of TN.   I lost my taste, smell numbness in arms and legs and my face and teeth were numb.

After taking medication the electric shock pains went but had a constant ache in my face.  Had MRI’S, CT’S blood tests and nerve conduction tests everything was all good.  I kept saying it was my tooth but my dentist, GP, specialist dentist, neurologist and neuro surgeon all said my tooth was fine.  I then notice a lump in my mouth and went to my dentist, who was very reluctant to see me but when she saw my abycess she was happy to help.  After much deliberation I elected to have my tooth extracted and upon extraction (after anaesthetic had worn off) I was on top of the world as I was finally pain free after 7 months and over the next few days got my taste back and numbness went away.

My dentist now believes it was my tooth that had possibly caused the episode of TN.  I’m not saying to everyone go get your teeth pulled but if every day your tooth just pulses get a second opinion and you get those other symptoms get a second opinion.

I would just like to pass on my sympathies to all sufferers that cannot get relief as I  never want to go through that debilitating pain again.

Take care.  xx
