Finally someone takes me seriously!

So after waiting half my life and suffering for what seems an eternity today I went back for my test results. I have a high calprotectin level, I think it was 239, (means nothing to me) so I left with a bowel prep pack and am awaiting an urgent colonoscopy. The consultant said that is a marker for IBD so I need further tests. I also have to have a breath test at a different hospital, what is this for? I forgot to ask as I had been sat waiting 2hrs and I hadn't eaten since yesterday tea time and it was 1.30am when I finally got called in for my 11.30am appointment!

Hi Jo it's great they are helping and listening, the breath test is for the h.pylori bug which can reside in your gut and cause high calprotectin levels they are ruling out bugs causing your symptoms, they should also have done a microbial stool sample to rule out all the other bugs
