finally went and did it.

I recently posted that i suspected i may have fibro. Well i finally went to the doctors and told him everything. The first thing he said was you are overweight, yes i agree with him. But instead of just nodding and leaving i told him that my weight had nothing to do with the pains i was suffering. Cutting a long story short he thought at first i had polymyalgia but when i explained it had been ruled out and i told him i thought it was fibro and the symptons were very similar he actually agreed with me. He ordered blood tests, 6 viles in total, for RA, vit D and stuff with letters i have no idea what for. He also told me i have carpal tunnel in my right hand. He has prescribed me amatryptiline and im on naproxen(for achilles tendonitis). Ive also recieved a letter saying the doc has referred me to the muscluskeletol clinic. He also said that fibro is a very good possibility for the symptons i have.

I have good days and bad days, when i have a good day i can get things done if im having a bad day i can barely walk, thing or function. After a car journey i literally cant walk one foot in front of the other and i grit my teeth with the pain. I have crap balance, headaches and dont start me on the brain fog. If it is fibro is it classed as a disability?

    Hi AliBear

I feel for you.  I totally understand your frustration and as it's all new to me so not sure about it being classed as a disability.

I am sure others will advice you on this forum.

    Hello AliBear,

Good to hear about your docs visit, and that he is taking you seriously. Interesting that he has referred you to muscloskeletol clinic. Most peolpe seem to have been diagnosed by rheumotologist. As far as I know some people with Fibro have been able to claim disability. I am sure others will be able to advise you about that. Please let us know how you get on.

    Take care, Anne

not a medical team .your chances of getting it is much lower although you can still apply . but if you do . get the form fillied in by professionals like fightback4justice

    is your best chance .

and yes hun i am excatly the same when i get a good day i can do loads is till hurt and get tired but its managable .but when i get a bad day , i can hardly move or think clearly .its crazy .and  unfair .

Hi, just to let you know I claimed pip and was awarded the standard rate for both mobility and personal care. As I've now had to give up work, I'm also claiming ESA. Good luck, and as tiswas says, it all depends on how your claim form is filled in. I personally used the 'benefitsandwork' website, but there are others. xx
