First Anniversary

Posted , 12 users are following.

Twelve months tomorrow since my RH replacement and the best thing I did. Hitting the golf ball an extra 30yds, climbing ladders in the garden to prune trees, need I say more. And just as a bonus I have retired from work too.

No pain at all, it just feels as if I have an extra wallet in my pocket occasionally and occasionally the incision pulls.

What a great story to read, I'm on the end of my fifth week post op. Everything is going well and sleep gets better and then I have a few bad nights but make up for it and keep a positive attitude. I've recently been feeling little pin pricks or shocks down my incision and was told that it's normal. It's the nerves being repaired and firing up, the body and modern medicine are amazing to me and I just giggle at all the progress that I've had due to therapy, the surgeon and the staff plus the work I have put in. I have enjoyed reading and contributed to this site and it helps more than I can say. I plan to go to the hospital where I had my surgery and see if I can talk with people that had surgery and let them know it gets better...so much better if you want it to and do the work. Thanks Tony30891, nothing better than positive reinforcement !

That's all that pension money in your wallet!! Congrats on reaching 12 months and retirement. I have been thinking about retirement since my op 12 weeks ago and my other hip was done in 2014 so know what that 1 year milestone feels like. But one thing this teaches you when you have this op is to make the most of life. So mine will feel like an extra purse in my pocket if I go for it as well! :o) I know there have been quite a few of us here age 50 plus so what other life changing decisions has this op done to others here?

All the best Tony. Regards Polly

Great to hear. My 1 year anniversary is on Nov 11. Just got back from 5 days of stalking wild boar in Texas through water, mud, hills. So nice to be pain free. 66 year old male with posterior approach. I forget I have an artificial hip
