First day of orlistat

Hi it's my first day of orlistat and I am suffering a terrible headache, is this a possible side effect?

I am really looking forward to seeing how I get on with my weight loss

If anyone one has any snack or meal ideas I would really appreciate it and I would love to hear everyone's stories xxxxxx

    are ok as long as you dont have too many. Cheese is a no no generally but I have found tesco light cheese slices are just about under the 5g rule lol

    I haven't seen any cheese under 5g even Philly light is over that!

    These are those fake cheese slices. They are very very low in fat and taste ok. Not amazing lol. I had a couple the other day and I was fine. X

    Hi All

    Sorry for the intrusion........My GP did not explain my diet other than low cal. Ive limited myself to 1000 cals per day. Is this too much. Ive eaten for lunch a prawn salad with a small amount of pasta. So please correct me if im not quiet getting this.......are you all saying that each meal should be 15g or less of fat?

    Hi thanks for all your comments. I suppose it's tricky trying to do slimmingworld and calorie/fat count at the same time. I only had the cheese with the bacon so I could use up my healthy extra A, but agree would prefer ""proper cheese" anyday lol.

    I've thrown all my packaging away so canny check the fat so ill b sure to have a look tomorrow.

    I'm on alli which is the weaker version it states:

    If no exercise

    Below 10st10lbs 1200 kcal 12g fat per meal

    10st 10lb to 11st 11lbs 1400kcal 15g fat per meal

    11st 12lbs to 13st 2lbs 1600kcal 17g fat per meal

    13st 3 and over 1800kcal 19g fat

    I think the key is not to eat too much fat otherwise you pay! 5g per 100g fat content and you must eat enough food so your body does not think you are starving yourself but more importantly you must eat enough so you can sustain it as a life long change and not cave cos you are hungry!

    No more than 5g per 100g which is stated on every packet. Fitness pal app is fab states fat and calories and you can track what your eating. No more than 15g in 1 meal.

    I have 1200-1400 calories a day and I've lost 11 1/2 lb in 3 weeks.

    Just check the fat as that's the main thing else you will have accidents. I had a Sunday lunch out thinking I'd only have meat veg and 1 roast potatoe and was pooing oil for a whole day. Think the gravy was made with meat juices. Was not nice!!!

    Hi all, I'm a little confused on the egg situation! I often have 2 poached eggs on brown bread for breakfast at

    The weekends, (no butter on toast) is that ok? Thought poached eggs were ok for you??

    Hi Donna, some people are ok with eggs others not. My friend has one taking the tablets and it goes straight through her lol!!

    I sometimes have poached eggs on wholemeal too but 2 eggs are 8.7g of fat.

    I have read some have had side effects with eggs, I'm ok with them but with all the other things the ladie was having would prob take her well over 15g in a single meal.

    Thanks that a great help. Like I said I had 2 poached eggs this morning and seem to be fine so far!

    If I only started the tablets on Friday will they be working yet? Only I don't seem to be having any side effects! (not that I want any lol)

    Takes a week to get in your system but if you follow it you won't get any.

    I had a Sunday lunch out only 1 roastie but propa gravy and I poo'd oil not nice. Can't imagine if I'd had the works lol.

    But I eat all sort and just watch the fat content and weights coming off brill without side effects at all.

    Nightmare day !!! Been so good since starting orlistat on Tuesday.

    Today the in laws decide to come out with us for lunch so I chose harvester as least I can have salad and healthy option ish.

    So I had spit roast chicken but didn't eat the fat and a jacket potato and peas , bowl of salad then I had fruit for afters. I did have some of there low fat mayo on the salad though. I skipped the tablet for the meal unsure what to do as I didn't want side effects but thinking back now only bad stuff I had was the mayo ??!

    Do you think this will ruin my nearly week of being good ?

    Hiya! You should be ok, and you can't not ever not go out as if like me ill be on them for a while as 4-5 stone to loose. You picked all the right things well done for being so strict smile

    I don't know I submitted to temptation on the mayo ! Then regretted it after. Just wasn't sure whether I should of taken my tablet or not ! As I wondered whether I would get the dreaded side effects and didn't want that while out.
