First drink?

After 10 years, 3 months and 4 days without a sip of alcohol, I filled up my glass to mix my daily dose of a fibre supplement drink. ( I need it after losing a length of bowel from cancer surgery.) After about three swallows I noticed it tasted 'funny' and put it down. To my horror, I had used the glass which contained the remnants of my wife's vodka and tonic! She assured me that it isn't counted as an alcoholic drink as it was a genuine mistake. I'm NOT going to start counting the days from zero again! But it was quite disappointing. Please don't make me count it as an alcoholic drink. 😢

That probably didn't have anywhere near the concentration of a "drink". I'd imagine there's more in a shot of Nyquil or the like.

I sometimes walk down the wine aisle in Tesco and think of all the money I spent and how many secrets and the SHAME...not worth trying "one more drink".....well done to you as well. Amazing. Robin

It is for no-one else to say whether you should 'count' it or not. Personally, I think it would be silly to count it. Seriously John, don't think twice about it or you are going to start obsessing and that is when the danger will come.
In my opinion, your sobriety is as solid as it was 10 yeas, 3 months and THREE days ago - and any recovery program that makes you punish or shame yourself for an unintentional mistake like this is not worth the paper it is written on!

Thanks all. Yes I do have a thing about numbers, time etc. I know the exact time of day when I threw my last drink out the window. (It was Summer here.) I am more annoyed than anything, as I know it was accidental and have no desire to start again. I won't count that as a drink! Best wishes to all.
