First hemorrhoid and its a thrombosed external HELP

Hey guys, I'm 22 and I've gotten what I believe to be my first hemorrhoid and from the research Ive done it appears to be a thrombosed external one. It appeared right after I had a particularly rough BM where I strained a lot. There was very mild pain but I felt like there was something stuck in there right at the end you know? I examined the area and found that there is a protrusion right at the exit. It hurts to touch and on the top of it its a dark purple/black-ish hue.

Anyway It appeared yesterday after that rough toilet visit and that was about a good 20 hours ago. So far it doesnt seem to have grown and the pain is still the same (mild-low) and sometimes none at all. Just feel blockage at the end.

From what I've read these things tend to take care of themselves and there are steps you should take to make sure they dont flare up again. But my main worry right now is about my next BM which is going to have to happen soon. I am literally terrified to do it. And I was wondering if there was anything I can do to make the process easier? I'm not even sure how I'm going to get it out considering this thing is blocking the exit just the thought of it makes me more terrified.

I've already been drinking water like a fiend. I took some stool softener and ate a bunch of fruit and veggies this morning too. So what can I do? What will happen if its another rough and strained BM? I'm not sure if this post will even get any responses before I have to but im hoping it will.

Hi James. From the photos I've looked at online I don't think it will completely block the exit but I could be wrong. I find coconut oil very good as it's safe to use internally and makes everything a lot smoother down there. Have you been to the doctors yet to be examined? If it's showing all the time you might as well get them to take a look.

Hi, you need to see the doc for that you can get scheriproct ointment to kill the pain when you go each day. And witchhazel will stop the bleeding and itching on a cotton pad put against the piles, and just leave it there for a while and change to a clean one aftr.

Soak in warm baths with gentle soap.

    Tracy.

James I have the same thing just happens to me last nigh. I am the same age and I'm really embarrassed. Not many people get them out age... What I've read anyway.

I talked to a nurse and told me that it is permanent. It can be treated though

    Or removed ( partially).

Go to a specialist before it's too late. I regret not doing anything about it sooner. I'm 34 now and been suffering from this for about your age. It just keeps getting worse and I'm at the biggest pain right now. It also developed a fissure too with the hemorrhoids. Look it up. Not fun at all.

Hey guys, just a little update. I gathered up all the information and advice I could and followed it. I got some Desitin ointment because I saw a lot of people saying it was good. I started taking stool softeners and ate a bunch of fruits and vegetables. It never really hurt at all unless I coughed and it didnt grow or bleed so thats good. Anyway, I had a few BMs since then and I followed some advice I read to squat because its actually better than sitting on the toilet and it made a HUGE difference so Im gonna do that from now on.

Anyway it seems to be pretty much gone now. It feels and looks kind of like it deflated in a sense. So I'm going to keep trying to get that fiber in and use the natural squatting position when going to the bathroom. Hopefully I dont have another one of the rough ones that caused it. But even if I do, the whole experience wasn't too bad. Nothing like some of the experiences with roids that I've read.

I will be going to the doctor though, in a few weeks.

Hi James, I'm also in my 20s & have an dealing with my first external grape sized thrombosed hemmy. First I was in denial but the pain was obvious so I went to a chemist and they sent me home with coloxly senna (laxative & stool softener), protosedyl (ointment applied to H. for pain & swelling) & ibuprofen for the pain & inflammation. This helped heaps but on 3rd day pain was intense & noticed a blood spot area went to docs who calmed my fears of death by haemorrhoid & said to keep up what I'm doing & add paracetamol for extra pain relief & said it should bleed out & shrink in the next couple weeks at most.

It's now day 5, it's begun to bleed out so I've replaced the protosedyl with witch hazel soaked cotton make up remover pads & placed them over the H & will repeat the process each time I go to the toilet. It's soothed the area a lot & taking pain relief is easing it further.

I've been really conscious of my diet too, water & fibre rich foods, no processed food at all.

I hope it goes away soon. It's so mortifying but super common as all the internet posts would suggest.

The doc also said if nothing changes in the few days I should consider getting it incised to release the blood.. luckily for me it's doing it on its own!

I hope this info helps. Haemorrhoids are literally a pain in the ass.
