First Outbreak. Need relief

I am having a very severe primary outbreak. I can barely handle peeing without trembling and crying on the toilet. The only relief I found was taking Azo UTI pain relief and using a propolis ointment Herstat. But I don't know if I should be taking the Azo, plus everything says not to use ointments and to keep the area dry for air to speed healing. I'm in so much pain. Please send recommendations for how to handle peeing. And how to get rid of the sores as quickly as possible. I've started a course of Valtrex, taking ibuprofen, and lysine.
Also what tests I can get done that are definitive? I would like to have a definite result that shows this diagnosis.
Lastly, does anyone do suppressive therapy? I don't want my sex life to be ruined. Pros and cons of suppressive therapy?
Really any advice I'll take. Thanks in advance

i am sorry you are going through this. from what i have read on other post the first is the worst so it does get better. while you have sores the most accurate test is a swab. if you can get to dr asap before they heal to have that done. if not then IGG blood test. wish you the best of luck

Hi, I am so sorry to hear you're experiencing this pain. I promise it will get better over time. The first outbreak is beyond the worst I've experienced as well.. but I am on suppressive therapy, have been since maybe December of last year.. I have one person that I have sex with. The hardest part was telling him what I have.. but we are careful.. we use condoms every single time & I take one pill everyday & he has never had any outbreaks or problems. Now granted I still get scared which makes me not want to continue sex with him.. but during my primary OB I used A&D ointment combined with the pills & Ibuprofen.

Hi there I'm also going through my first outbreak, I'm a month in and its getting a little easier but I got it extremely bad! the sores will go! this is what Iv learned! use Vaseline buy a box of gloves and put Vaseline on every day and night it stops the inching and stinging when peeing, and takes the burn away you'll get some relief, another thing I do when I need to pee bring a cusion with you place it on your lap and put your head on it, get yourself into a fetal postion it sounds mad but it's worked for me , push the cusion into your stomach and bladder and you should pee because there is a bit of force in place! It's horrendous and scary I know

dermoblast buy it. spray it on heavy before you pee.
your doctor can prescribe lidocaine and it will numb the sores completely
finally do a barrier or vaseline on them with gloves on
so sorry friend

Update: I just got lab results back that were positive for bacterial vaginosis as well... So now I'm taking metronidazole plus Valtrex...
