First outbreak of HSV 1 on genitals...please help!!

I started feeling uncomfortable around my genitals last Friday (13th December....Friday the 13th, typical eh lol)
Over the weekend the pain got worse and I noticed spots on my vagina and the park of my bum crack closest to my vagina (as in not the anus or part up near my back).
On Monday it got worse still and I had swabs taken at the doctors, which he suspected was HSV 2 genital herpes. He prescribed me Aciclovir, 400mg to be taken 3x per day. I also have been using Vaseline and a lidocaine numbing cream to help with the pain.
I've been Googling everything to try and ease my symptoms but the information is just repeated after a while.
I am in so much agony, even to stand, lie or sit let alone walk. Going to the toilet leaves my crying for a good 30 mins afterwards because the pain is that excruciating!!
Doctor rang today and told me I have HSV 1 although I have broken out around my genitals rather than around my mouth.
Can anyone here please help me with what to expect with how this will clear up? I've read taking Aciclovir can help them clear up or start to, within 2 - 3 days but this is the 4th day on the tablets and I feel no different.
It says they ooze and weep, then crust and heal. But given the place, maybe I'm knocking the scabs off which is delaying healing?
Some websites say it can clear up within 2 - 4 weeks but I can't bear this pain for another month!!
Does anyone have any stories of their healing timelines?
Do they heal bit by bit? As in less pain everyday or all at once?
Thankyou for any help, I'm at my wits end here 😣

Well, if you have GHSV-1, you could expect a much better outlook than those with GHSV-2. I was diagnosed about a year and a half ago with GHSV-1 after I developed a small cluster that I suspected to be herpes. Initial tests (IGM) came back negative. I asked for another round a couple of weeks later and those tests (IGG) came back positive for HSV-1.
The stigma of having this virus is far worse than actually having it. In the year and a half since diagnosis, I have only had one possible outbreak. I say "possible" because I'm not even certain it was an outbreak since a couple of bumps developed a few days post-shave around my groin area. They cleared up within a few days. I take Valtrex daily to minimize the risk of passing it on to my girlfriend who I began seeing a couple of months after my diagnosis. I was upfront with her about it and, at least in the beginning, we practiced safe sex. But we've been having unprotected sex for over a year now and I have yet to pass the virus.

Hey my experience is quite similar to yours. My discomfort started sunday (dec 15) afternoon after sleeping with my ex the njght before. I thought it was just irritated from sex. Monday morning peeing started burning, by monday night peeing was so bad I went to urgent care. I was so sure this b*****d gave me gonorrhea or chlamydia. The next night the peeing got 10x worse and i had a horrible yellow discharge. My lab results weren't back yet but with the discharge the dr called in a scrip for azithromycin for me. By wednesday I literally could not pee without crying and my entire vagina was in pain so i went back to urgent care. This time it was a different dr. He suggested a vaginal exam, during which he said he saw sores. He prescribed me the aciclover. Today I finally figured out how to pee without feeling like im dying. I bought recticare (a hemorrhoids cream with lidocaine) i put it all over and waited about 7 mins, i tried to pee on the toilet spreading my lips apart but that still burned so i filled the tub up with cool water and was able to go easily! The past few days ive tried vaseline, spreading my inner labia apart, leaning forward and nothing has worked
til now.

Thankyou all for your replies! (except I can't see the msg from Karen) the emotional support really helped!
I'm feeling a bit better today. I started taking Lysine tablets and using Lysine cream on Friday and they're really helping!!
If you are still struggling I'd definitely recommend!!
