Hi, can someone advice me on gout or is it gout?

Im a long term sufforer of gouty arthrises.  Over the last  6 months I've gradually reduced meat and fish in my diet. I may have chicken or fish once a week now. I avoid high Purin food, mushrooms and lentils and I may have a pint a week. Since this last attack I've not drunk for 2 weeks. Im also on Warfarin for a metal heart valve I had put in 2.5 years ago. So I can't take anti inflammatory, only Predinisalol  (steroid) which I took for 4 days 40mg and it cleared up, but then came back overnight, so I stopped them. Today my GP has changed my antibiotics and said try these. My ankle is very red and swollen.

Are there quick remedy solutions?

Yes what worked best for me is basically the same although you need to drink organic black cherry juice it really helps break down the uaric acid built up in your body. Also Mack sure you are taking in vitamin c supplement. These by itself will really help you out.

For a quick fix one week on steroids. Then I kept of meat as long as possible, tomatoes and acid fruits. Ok so far.

Thanks for your replies, it's appreciated. I take two capsules of modena cherry a day plus 1000mg of vitamin c a day. I am now veggie, so no meat or fish.

Black cherry juice works best for me too also. Vitamin c and vitamin D. Also, stretching the area that is inflammed. Since I usually get it on my toe I stretch my foot as much as I can and do some massages with Frankincense oil, which helps break down some of the crystalization from the gout.

As for diet cut out organ meats of any type, no kale or spinach. No salmon, no cream of wheat or wheat bread or rye bread, or pumpernickel. These breads aer high in purines because of the wheat. Cutting out all these things will help. Light exercises like walking or yoga are also a great help. I do stretches and slow pace stationary bike or elliptical machine. Movement is crucial and essential to help the body circulate the blood which helps to stop from more uric acid from building up. There are no real quick fixes without some type of exercise movement and eliminating high purine foods.
