First pregnancy questions..

I have, very happily, just discovered that I am pregnant, and I'm just hoping that all will be well. I do have worries though as I am 35 and this is my first pregnancy. We thought it may be more difficult for me to get pregnant at my age, but succeeded on our second attempt! I have to admit that not being able to tell anyone until 3 months is a very lonely experience which is why I'm writing here, to ask anonymously what your experiences have been. I seem to be craving carbs and wanting to sleep much of the time. Has that been the same for any of you? I'm also finding it very hard to think of excuses with my friends why I don't want a glass of wine when we're out. At the moment I'm blaming a course of antibiotics. I would love to hear from anyone out there your experiences, and feelings during this time. Hope to hear back soon..

I am 37 and I'm almost out of my 1st trimester & I can tell you that I noticed a major change in my need for sleep. I have been napping almost daily in addition to sleeping longer at night. As far as going out is concerned, you can always tell people that your stomach is a bit upset, etc. and you'll probably get an easy pass...alternately, opt for outings during the day (e.g., lunch). Beware, friends who know you well will figure it out though! Congratulations!

Hi, I found out I was pregnant last week and I completely agree about how hard it is not telling people. We told our best friends who are expecting in early Feb as I know I'd want to talk to them if something does go wrong. 7 more weeks seems like forever away! I have no idea what to say to people about the drinking! With christmas coming up I'm going to run out of excuses pretty quickly. Antibiotics is a good one! I'm staying with my family for 2 weeks over the holidays and I'm worried about how to explain this tiredness!
