      Hi debbie,

Yeah it was my wee that was smelly really horrible I kept wondering if I had some medical problem.

isnt that a sign of a water infection, which were more prone to during menopause, can go on its own, its caused by us drying out so much.

      Hi Elaine,

I don't think so didn't have stinging or itching like I do with cystitis. I know it wasn't diabetes smell as I have a friend who has that and her wee smells strange.

I described it as smelling like a ladies public loo.

I also had another odd smell some sort of body odour (not from my underarms). A horrible dirty smell during the ninth after my last period it smelt really dirty and even asi was bathing it seemed to be arising from my belly/chest area for a few weeks.

Underarms have actually smelt very little since last period and I rarely use deodorant now just one of those natural stone things.

Zigangie.............that is strange, i havent had that, im glad as well.  You dont necessarily get the stinging etc with water infection, depends on how your body copes with it, ive had water infection and didnt get stingy symptoms etc, do sometimes get to that stage, but not always, but did get the strong smelling urine, but its a funny indescribable smell, i just dont think it went on to develop into cystitis, must have a good immune system, now theres a positive............ha every bodies body is different, a lot of ladies have mentioned the smell, and they have said the same about themselves they know nothings wrong, its just hormones, so maybe its simply that.

I'm pretty sure it was just the hormones as it has happened a few times but not all day just the odd wee here and there.

I'd never had cystitis until early peri then got it a few times over several years. I've also got thrush every time I've had anti biotics until recently when a homeopath told me to take pro biotics as soon as you start the antibiotics and for a week after. That works great.

big fan of pro biotics, taken them myself for thrust on my tongue, daughter has crohns, hospital has told her to take them when shes has flareup, takes them a lot.

    Hi Karen

don't worry it's often down to changes in PH levels.  I had that and it was Bacterial Vaginosis which can be fixed with pessaries you can get in chemists.  Canesten also do them.  Good idea however to test swab at GP in case it is a different type of infection.  I was prescribed Metronidazole.  Anyway easily fixed and trust me it isn't only you!  Best wishes  Fiona

Karen,  YES, it was so bad that I had to take two or three baths a day, I even had a very embarrassingly situation where my supervisor said she noticed an odor, I was humiliated and quit. Went to the Dr. He said no infection. I had no idea that was an issue with menopause too./
