Hi so sorry to hear that you have to endure this awful condition. What creams have you been using? You may need a referral to the Colorectal dept. I had a chronic deep fissure at 12 o'clock for around 18 months to the point where i could not walk and the pain was lasting all day. I tried GTN, Diltiazem, other suppositories like Diclofenac and creams. I had Botox injections and Fissure excision which made it worse initially. Then more Diltiazem which was the only thing that helped. I then had surgery again with more Botox and Anoplasty where the surgeon made a flap using nearby skin and stitched it over the fissure. It worked and I feel great. I still worry though and get anxious if I don't have a BM or have to strain a little. I try and maintain by eating Weetabix, prunes, pears and drinking water. Keep your BM's soft, I did take laxatives for a year! Soak perinium in a plastic bidet of warm water after BM and heatpads or hot water bottle really helped me too. It was the worst time of my life that I will never forget and live in fear of it happening again. X

I am taking Diltiazem 2 percent and nefedipine as well, nothing works to relax that muscle. i have also tried the sitz bath, i basically live in the tub, i am on my 13 day with this agony, 3 trips to the ER with no clear direction, i hope next week when i get my appointment with the surgeon i can just get the surgery this thing is awful.

hi ,bear in mind I'm not a doctor. its a very slow process here, bare that in mind.
I've been doing warm baths three or 4 times at day.
I've got rectogesic ointment from my doctor
using sudocream every couple of hours.
eat fibres but not too many as you have to go to toilets afterwards.
really cut down on food as the pain was unbearable, so I was going to the toilet every other day.
the day I knew I had bowel movement I was taking muscle relaxant pills to escape the pain.
this worked for me.
also worked sticking my little finger right inside the canal area with cold water as it was giving me like a 5,10 minutes break.
all the best there's a way out ,hold on time goes fast
