Five Months After Roator Cuff Surgery-Still Hurting

Posted , 3 users are following.

5 months pist-op. PT for first 6 weeks. Limited PT and very painful. Bicep repair with underarm repairs. I gave up on PT. Stretches with pendulum swings. Frustrated. Now, I do reaching, stretches, light lifting. Spasms in bicep area are painful. Shoulder is hot at times. I also have a Speed Bridge implant. When will this heal? Never would have had this surgery if I knew the actual heal time. My arm is only at 50% use. Any thoughts on this? Please don’t say more PT. I’m not into that pain game again.

Hi, I am just at 4 months, still have some pain.  It does take 6 to 12 months for you to fully heal.  Obvious questions are, have you told your doctor and had an additional mri?  I was released from pt yesterday, he said I could do it at home.   I know my PT people literally stretched my shoulder and arm to the point of pain, but I think they have to get things moving.  Of course icing also, but I would certainly let your doctor know and keep pushing until you feel better or get answers.   Good luck.
