FLA Updates

Maybe I missed them, but haven't seen too many updates lately. I think I counted seven to nine folks here who have had FLA. Should be more by now. What about the Dr. K. Study? Any data out yet? Please let us know how things are going.

    Hi JimJames

Great to read your post, and very happy for you and your great results!

I'm flying down to Dr K tomorrow for my Thursday procedure. Very excited and no apprehension or nerves at all. I'm very analytical and love to research a subject, Dr K was the clear solution for my BPH and like you I have a small prostate cyst (different kind) as well. FLA with Dr Karamanian was the obvious and only treatment choice in my mind. After all the barbaric, shot in the dark choices and treatments we have been faced with until the past couple of years, Focal Laser Ablation by a skilled doctor using 3T MRI is the modern, precise, targeted solution. Sounds like an advertisement but it's not! :-)

    Onward Upward!

      Hi Pete,

You must have misunderstood what I said. I never had the FLA procedure. In any event, good luck with yours and please report back from time to time on your progress.

Mike Here, I got an email from Dr K and Samantha, about 4 or 5 days ago.  He, his staff and family are all OK from Harvey.  He did take his family a ways north of Houston for safety.  I think that they are just getting things going again trying to catch up on all of the loss time from Harvey, plus his primary work is on Prostate Cancer.  Those patients would take precedence over BPH I think.  There are quite a few patients out there now that have had the FLA for BPH.  I think he is just about done on the patients for his study.  That will all have to be written up and documented on the site.  I think he is also trying to get more backing as far as support to get this procedure approved.

How are things with you?  The tremendous impact of hurricane Harvey has put a lot of this topic on kind of a hold.  I think that there has been a slow down on people reporting because we are coming to a little equilibrium now with the patients for the study, the patients that can afford to have the procedure regardless, and the people that have had some issues prior to consulting with Dr k that he has also helped out.  I think the people that are out there that are still considering this procedure, but are on a wait and see, plus naturally some people could not afford this procedure right now and have elected to try another procedure to relive them from their problem.

Jim, I am still not receiving any emails to my computer when one of the threads I thought I was following has any activity. I cannot figure out why and I have tried to solicit  support to tell me what it could be? Do you have any ideas as I know you have been on this site a long time?

I have know way of knowing or seeing any activities without just signing on and scrolling through the threads to catch up.

    Thanks
