    Hi Joleen

It sounds to me more like an allergic reaction to something and perhaps your white blood cell count is low  ?   This could mean you're allergic to something you wouldn't ordinarily be affected by.   I'd recommend you look into building up your immune system with some immune support supplements, veg juicing,  and maybe some magnesium and selenium will help too.  (Try and avoid sugar substitutes )  Coconut oil will help reduce inflammation.  Building up the immune system anyway will help your body cope with your thyroid issue, as its all 'autoimmune' connected.

    Best wishes.

Joleen, it is important to know how you are being treated for this.  What treatment were you on when these symtoms happened.  Graves eye disease and Graves thyroid disease are different aspects of Graves disease.  Some people have reported on this Board getting Graves eye disease 7 years after RAI treatment.  Getting all your thyroid levels normalized including antibodie will help your Graves eye disease but you should always see an ocular specialist who will treat the eye disease with either steroids or surgery.

Hi, I had previously stopped carbimazole and tried a more natural approach but doctor was not happy and wanted me to go back to 5 mg every other day, about four days into that the symptoms started up again puffy face acne rash swelled eyes so I realised it was the tablet , I stopped it again but two weeks on one eye has gotten worse with the bulging , my tongue is still swollen, I feel tired, cold and miserable, through the day my face seems to swell so I look abnormal, then it settles again, I am just confused as to is this my thyroid being too low or is this graves diease at its worst. I have had a blood test today so I will know results next week. Doctors are off no use all they say is swelling is a factor with thyroid diease, but my goodness I feel like my mental health is effected as I never want to leave the house, I don't want to go back on carbimazole as my skin totally breaks out to the point my whole face is swelled and has a rash all over it , the eye symptoms are hard enough to deal with, I have cut out the aspartame I have added supplements, I exercise , my only real problem is I feel stressed a lot, I just  can't get good advice or a real understanding if what is causing my symptoms,

As stress is known to trigger many autoimmune diseases, it is really important to take steps to deal with stressors.  My Graves started when I worked with an abusive co-worker and my boss was not around to deal with it.  Finally after 6 months, I told him I would no longer work with her.  Since many others had problems with her as well, he spoke to her and almost fired her but she asked to take training and he allowed her to do that.  When I am emotionally stressed, I tend to obsess and that doesn’t help much.  There are herbs you can take if you are stressed.  The fact that you went from being hyper to hypo so quickly makes me wonder if you have Hashimoto’s disease.  Ask your doc to test your anti-TPO level and for TGAb antibodies.  If it is confirmed you have it, a natural protocol will work better for you.

Hi I just received result which is free t4. 10.4 and tsh 0.21 , what does this mean

When you post lab results to this Board for feedback, you need to also post the normal ranges for your lab that is doing your testing.  Your TSH is still a little on the low side which indicates HYPERthyroidism.  What is the change from your last results?

Tsh o.4-4.0 and t4 9-25 . My last results were 2.17 and 12.4 so technically without medication the t4 has dropped which is quite confusing. My tsh never really changes although it has imporoved since I was first diagnosed when it was 0.02
