Hi Danny, just curious where is the Rheumatology unit in Dingwall and how did your wife get refered there?

Tricia you first have be living in the Highlands and Islands, and be refered by your RA consultant.

The unit is at the Ross Memorial Hospital.

Do you live in the Highlands?

Hi Danny, Yes I live in the Highlands, I have asked about a pain clinic I heard about but was told they only really refer people there is they are at the end of trying everything else.  Thanks for getting back to me.  I may have to quiz my doctor once more.

Hello carol. I know how you feel. I'm in so much pain this morning after a terrible night not able to sleep. Have my first appointment with the rheumatologist this week. I think you're right the cold weather doesn't help. Take care

Hi Carol, like you I have never been pain free totally from R.A., & yes the winter is a horror as the cold always makes it worse.  I did find that this year we went away for a week in Decemeber to warmer climes and it was like magic.  I do know some people who like the cold. but for me it has to be heat.

I have an electric blanket which I absolutely love.

Yes, mornings are worse, but tend to find that it eases a little during the day, hate painkillers as they just knock me out all the time, I think if there was an olympic sleep competition I would win as would I am sure many others with this horrid disease.
