Flashing lights in the dark like a disco/strobe light.

To start things off, I do have a history of migraine auras, which started about 6 years ago.

So about a month ago, I started having these disco like lights that go on and off when I close my eyes at night, the interval is anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds per flash, and an average of 2-6 flashes before they stop. The entire eye is lit and resembles a thunderstorm light effect, or turning on the lights in a room.

Sometimes however, when I wake up at night, the flashes are rapid and ongoing with my eyes being open this time, but stop when I close them. They completely go away when there's light and in some cases, I get a few when I stare at a specific color, usually being a bright color around dim light.

Another interesting phenomenon I get is when I'd look through some dark fabric at the window when it's day time, these flashes are extremely rapid and ongoing. Also, if I wear a shirt with stripes, I get the exact same effect.

Other notable symptoms:

I sometimes see purple/yellow/pink round circles around specific areas such a certain countertop color, or certain time of day. I see purple as an after image when I stare at car lights or any light around the house.

Sometimes my vision becomes extremely bright, this usually happens when I'm staring at the computer or my cell phone.

I did have a small retinal hole discovered recently, but the retina specialist said it shouldn't be a concern at this point and no operation is necessary.

Iv'e seen about 2 ophthalmologists and 7 optometrists over the past 6 years, with no one, including the retina surgeon, having any answer whatsoever about my condition.

At this point I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced any of these symptoms and got some sort of an answer or prognosis.
