Flexible or rigid cystoscopy

i have asked questions before on this but after a period of bladder quietening down for several months i end up with another e coli and antibiotics which are now finished but as last year the frequency, about ten times in 24 hours, and the mild ache have not gone. test is clear. urologist suggested straight away rigid cystoscopy but my gp cautioned as this can make things worse. i asked why not, flexible one and he said all that rules out is big C. many people end up worse off with rigid as they have utis, bleeding and incontinence. i dont know whether to put myself through it, yet i still have minor symptoms but the frequency and the ache affect my life and my sleep. has anyone had a rigid cystoscopy and regained wellness?
