Flickering lights and feels like I'm looking through water

Hi all,
I have my first cataract surgery on Jan 2 & second surgery on Jan 16. I have Baush & Lomb toric lenses for astigmatisim. Since then, I've had a light show going off all around the sides and bottom of my vision. It also feels like my eyes are floating in water, at least that's what I see. The worst is in bright lights like at Walmart, etc. Sunlight doesn't bother me too much. Even in dim light, I see reflection. And seeing what looks like water is awful. My doctor keeps telling me it will go away but I'm concerned that it will not. Has anyone had this go away?? My doc says it could take a year. It's driving me crazy!

I think the new clarity for those of us with toric lenses who had astigmatism most of our lives and lived with it just fine, takes time to adjust. I hope even a small bit of improvement is happening daily? Artificial light can be overwhelming. If you need, make monthly follow ups with your surgeon or another just for check ups. Peace of mind is so valuable.

once again the site is wonky
i hope my reply is readable artificial light is tough on those of us with the new clarity of toric lens. Remember we saw life through a gentle haze prior to IOL. Visit your dr as often as monthly if you feel the need for follow up and assurance.

Hi ara21947,
Thanks so much for your reply. So, you have had toric lens inplants? How long ago and has the flickering cleared up?

My last eye was done Dec 23 2019. All I can say is I wear sunglasses, prescription, a lot. Its new eyes and not as before but it had to be done and it is what it is. Im grateful for sight. Hang in there but keep your follow-ups.
