Flu and future coronavirus vaccine

hi everyone just wandering if there's any advice for us with polymyalgia whether it's advisable to have the flu vaccine and coronavirus vaccine (when one becomes available) as so far I've avoided the flu vaccine after hearing that it has made polymyalgia worse @?

I have had the flu vaccine for the last five years of PMR and have had no ill effects.

It is rare for the flu vaccine to make PMR worse - although a lot of people claim that the flu jab caused their PMR. The truth is that the flu vaccine might have been the final straw that broke the immune systems back and sent it haywire, but it could equally well have been the flu you got when you didn't have the jab or anything else. I - and many many others - had never had a flu jab when PMR appeared. Some years I get a bit of a reaction - sore arm, achy for a day or two, but this year, nothing.

And when the Covid vaccine appears and approved for patients with a/i disorders I will be jostling to be in the queue - if my husband were to get Covid it would be curtains. Currently my nurse daughter is working on Covid ICU and the other daughter is also frontline NHS despite being vulnerable herself. We owe it to them and their colleagues to have the jab.
