Flu and now weird feeling I can’t shake

Good afternoon, Saturday (1/27/18) it started with a cough, then by the end of the evening the chills started…by Sunday the run-down feeling started to take place….and by that evening I got the whole nine yards of the flu…now as of today (Friday 2/2/18) the chills, headache and fever are gone…but I still have a that phlegmmy cough and a little runny nose…but the big one, is the weird feeling at the back of my head like wearing a heavy weighted scarf, along with my legs and arms feeling like their weighted down….at some points throughout the day I will get the cold flush feeling like when you have a severe injury and and you go in a cold sweat...now this is much worse (as in the morning as in this morning)....then Tapers off a little during the day and comes back at night.....my appetite sucks...i went from 291-279 in 7 days because of this....and as of today I’m forcing myself to eat because i never feel hungry...nothing seems appealing....I’m also still tired even though I slept the majority of the night without real problems..I don’t know if it’s being caused by the flu or not…today marks day 7 as i stayed home Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from work and was back to work yesterday and and am here again today…but still not feeling the person I was a week ago…I’m on venlafaxine 75mg for anxiety....I’ve been taking it like usual every morning and didn’t miss a dose and I’m wondering could this just be my anxiety going out of control due to the flu that I have?…I have heard that the medication does not work well when someone is sick with the flu and their anxiety goes out of whack even when they are medicated for it. If someone can help me please

With all the phlem go to the chemist and ask for a decongestant that will work, in the old days we used benylin although these days I do not know if you can still get the stuff.
One time when I was bad the GP gave me a cough medicine with Codeine to calm the throat. Again that was some time ago.
I find a milky honey warmed milk can also help. You could also try Fishermans Friends sweet they settle the throat well after flue and cold

Good Luck, get well soon

Keep warm and raise the height of your pillow so you cough if needed, the cough will also not be as bad if sitting more up than down,
Has your GP given you a cough Linctus ??

Decingestants can make you feel jittery so i would not advise and may not agree with your antidepressant.
im on my 4th week of the virus and my weakness is the sinuses...pain around eyes, nose cheeks...not nice!
Take care x

Hang in there. The antibiotics for the pneumonia should start to kick in another day or so. I used to get a lot of infections that went to my chest and usually by about the 3rd day of antibiotics I was beginning to feel better (but it is still important to finish the course of antibiotics). With the antibiotics dealing with the pneumonia your body is free to deal with the remains of the flu.
I always liked Lemsips as the heat etc helped to clear my throat and windway, there is usually a decongestant in it (may depend on which kind of lemsip) to clear the head, and the paracetamol helps soreness in the throat and any muscle aches from the flu
Make sure you don't take too much paracetamol in each 24 hours including any medications it is in. Also pharmacists are very good (sometimes better than doctors) at checking if it is safe to take anything with the anxiety medication and with each other. If you are finding it difficult to eat, try soups- the warmth again should help sooth your throat area.
Finally take it easy and give your body time to recover. Don't try to go back to work too soon - you won't be very effective anyway and could set back your recovery if you push yourself too hard, so don't feel guilty about having to take time off

But everything else checks out good for the blood work... the alt is 2.5x higher than normal...but I’m glad that it will be a few more weeks...the last 2 days have been a roller coaster...I’ll feel good for a few hours and then get bad and then come back up and feel good again and back and forth is that normal?...I’ve also noticed the morning are bad none The worst when i wake up i feeling like i got hit by a truck....any reason to that?
