I have just read that Gilcat has a severe cold.

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op. Have any guidelines

been given to those of you who have been to pre op

talks about  flu  vaccinations before or after hip

operations? I usually have one this time each

year

So sorry you are not well. How long does it take

for the flu vaccine to be active, I wonder.

I hope you are past the worst of the germ.

My surgeon said that Flu Vac is not live vaccine so fine and much better for hip than Flu!

Yes at my local supermarket! NHS giving local pharmacies ability to do free vacs so, as no queue, went for it.

Flu jabs take 2 weeks to become effective. I'd just had mine 3 weeks pre op & was at the occupational therapists when they mentioned this in their talk. I hadn't even thought about it. I had had a bit of a cold before the op but it was OK to go ahead

Hope this is of some help, god luck.
