Hi LadiLadies,

Has anyone experienced flu-like symptoms during peri? I was due to come on myperiod two days ago. The last time I was late like this it made me feel awful. When I went to the ER all they found was that I had a uti. This time I have another uti. I've been feeling weak, shaky, nauceous,  sore arms and legs and fatigue. It's the worst!

Yeah I've only experienced this feeling now and the other time when I had the uti. I don't typically feel this way during my period. I just read somewhere that uti's can delay your period.

      Hi Shar

Not too sure about a UTI delaying period..

if your Peri then periods can be irregular anyway..

also in peri ladies are prone to UTIs 😕

i was treated for one three ish weeks ago 😩

Oh okay. Wow the things we have to wrestle with. On top of that my weight still goes up and down.  I know it's the peri but it still bothers me.

    Hi Sharc,

yes I have had this feeling, a bit like I would imagine Fibromyalgia feels, which my friend has, and I didn't get this until peri/meno hit me.............................

In fact I was healthy (if a little heavy boned) and looked incredibly healthy,

I am fed up too, I look just awful and feel just awful most days, stress which everyone gets from time to time makes it so much worse,

trying to exercise but just can't be bothered with anything eek

However, UTI's are just awful, hope you've got some antibiotics, drink lots of water and rest. Take paracetamol. if you've got a temperature...........................

Take care hun, try to avoid stress wink

Thanks I appreciate you sharing and being able to relate.  I will try to rest. The doctor is supposed to be calling in some antibiotics for me.  I hope before today is over.

    Hi again,

try a hot (well warm) bath and a hot water bottle on the tummy (my friend swears by it. If you are prone to UTI's always ddrink plenty fluids (clear).

now you know what Mrs M says lol

only kiddin, have a relaxing evening hun xxx

Thanks Jay and Mrs. M. I finally got my period today only two days late this time. However this does pose a problem for them testing my urine since I am on my cycle. So I will have to wait until my cycle ends before I have them test it. But a lot of the symptoms I  had earlier today have simmered down quite a bit since my period started today. So it could have been a mix between the uti and my cycle starting which was causing so much misery for me.

    Hi

Yes I used to get flu like symptems, they just gor worse, my muscles used to ache & joints were very painful. I reserched muscle & bone pain & now take Ostecare tablest £2.50 from Morrisons. They contain Calcium, VitD3 (Bone pain), Magnesium(Muscle Pain) Zinc - I take 2 of these in the evening. I also take an extra D3 tablet in the morning. Since I have been on this I now have no pain, it took a good 2 months to work but I feel so much better, like the old me. I do hope this helps! X

Thank you. I do remember my doctor telling me that i needed some extra vitamin D. I was taking a supplement but once i started taking a vitamin with vitamin D in it i don't take the additional supplement.  I guess i need to start back again and see how that works.
